That said, Havieron, as I've stated numerous times before, is in one of the, if not THE, lowest risk and safest mining jurisdictions in the world.

IMHO, you can't purely list Havieron & Red Chris as the growth projects. You need to include Wafi-Golpu & Cadia, but who knows which projects Goldman used for their note.

As Sandeep Biswas stated in August last year, "We have an exciting pipeline of growth projects underway which includes the commencement of declines at Havieron and Red Chris to help accelerate the realisation of their value, as well as the further expansion of Cadia and the development of Wafi-Golpu,''

Good spot Paddy and let's not forget that the rubber stamp on the Havieron mining lease was, of course, significant news for both Greatland and Newcrest. However, it's not just significant, but also highly significant for Newcrest for other reasons.

Just look at the mining lease issues that Newcrest are having, and which may well continue, at the likes of Wafi-Golpu in Papua New Guinea. Havieron is vital for the growth plan at Newcrest, and, unlike Wafi-Golpu, Havieron is, of course, in one of the lowest risk and safest mining jurisdictions in the world.

Did anyone notice in the Joint Venture risk assessment section of the 2020 Newcrest Report:

"....the risks normally associated with...joint ventures commitments...and particular risks associated with entities where a sovereign state holds an interest, including the extent to which the state intends to engage in project decision making..."

Funny that! The plumber was over yesterday and I was looking at my ADVFN screen and he asked if I'd heard of this Bitcoin thing and that his mate had said he should 'get in'. It's not quite the London cab driver yet, but, IMHO, a warning signal nonetheless. Do disrespect meant to the plumber, and cab driver, but a warning signal to me.

As Paddy says, we're in safe hands and daily/weekly/monthly moves are largely irrelevant when you look at the Greatland Gold fundamentals!

Actually I'm surprised that Paddy still bothers to post on here, and I tip my hat to him for doing so, BTW, because I'm sure he, like many others, including myself, can see that so many people still just don't get it, and maybe never will!

The state Liberals will extend funding aid for mineral exploration out to 2025 if re-elected.

Resources Minister Guy Barnett made the $1.5 million pledge on the West Coast on Tuesday as part of the government's mining policy.

"By co-investing with industry through this partnership, we are supporting the continued investment in and development of our mining industry," the policy said.

The program has been running since 2018.

The policy said the spending would be "crucial to explore, research and identify more of Tasmania's natural mineral resources".

"This research plays a vital role in unlocking future mining development, further investment and more jobs in regional Tasmania."

The Havieron joint venture (JV) between Greatland Gold and Newcrest Mining is a gold-copper resource that potentially represents the next generation of Western Australian mines.

Interesting view about the Rio 'buoying' the GGP rise. Several factors at play yesterday.

The gold price has gained from this point yesterday, to US$1,745 an ounce on the spot market.

Talk of rising US inflation could further improve sentiment for gold as a hedge against inflation....

...Greatland Gold (AIM: GGP), which has the Havieron gold development project in Western Australia's Paterson Province with Newcrest Mining, was one of the market risers in London.

The company closed up 18.99% on no news, likely buoyed by Rio Tinto's announcement this week it would bolster the 2021 exploration budget at its nearby Citadel joint venture from A$13.8 million to $24.5 million.
