They would never give it to me. I would Frac the gas open a coal mine and get the Blast furnaces producing steel again (with carbon capture) using the £5bn I would save from Drax subsidy withdrawal! And my Tidal production would be designed with stopping coastal erosion in mind.

Tidal power is an answer without eating up more countryside, and of course is much more predictable than wind!

Put solar on roofs not farmland! Wind and Tidal on shoreland keep Britain's pleasant lands for people to enjoy! Why they can build HS2 without building in power network cables is beyond my simplistic brain!

They like to include a good rise in value, if it happened now it would not show up as a rise in FT100 better to get off to a good start within the Index? I for one will keep topping up on any dips.

Ed Miliband seems to be sold on the myth that wind is free? Coal, Oil and Gas are also free the cost is how much investment goes into using it! He is also sold on the myth that a Tax allowance is a subsidy! if that was true then why is he not just giving wind / Solar farms a Tax allowance. They are, but it is not enough to make them viable!

And the one element of renewables not ever shown is the Tax revenue generated from them compared to oil and gas at some point they will have to be loaded.

Much the same as cycle lane's at some point if they work and people actually use them and give up their cars they would have to Tax bikes!

Problem for Starmer is he got power by doing deals with other power blocks within Labour, Milibands being the most dangerous they have given him dictator like power and a few £bn but Miliband Knows he need hundreds of £bn's to even attempt his mad plans what fools will give him that? well Starmer can access the public sector pension funds and change the rules for ISA's to push our money into Milibands hands. GB Energy I suspect will have the money even if it doesn't have a plan, when they get their hands on public sector pensions and become the only investment for your ISA. They have already got their hands on the EPL money that was already in the public sector finance income at 35% they have redirected it into GB Energy and then called a Black hole on that money. The increase to 38% and reduction in allowances will probably be negative to the amount raised.

And when the wind and sun are not available we have the £5bn subsidized Drax, and soon we will have massive battery back up to the wind farms, I saw the latest one can store enough to power 400k homes for 2 hours

Madness having to consider the environmental impact of the use of the recovered oil not just the impact of the project. Perhaps the Government can be sued for manslaughter by not considering the impact of removing the winter fuel allowance or setting a pension rate at below the minimum wage required to live.

As long as using oil is legal they have no right to allow imports, but not allow companies to produce it in the UK.

Ed Miliband should be very Careful with other people's money, he should learn from history giant infrastructure projects if financed from private money often go bust, channel tunnel comes to mind his GB energy looks like it is angling to get its hands on public sector pension funds, many local councils have gone bust trying to play the market. He may build a new energy system but it may well end up bankrupt and a foreign company may well buy the assets for peanuts and then make a profit. But a generation of public service workers may not.
