Same to you! They have great potential all the same. A lot of people can be near sited, with the price of oil so low they devalue the company. Like anything, prices will rise again and providing profits and potential are good (which in the case of both they are) they will flourish. Bargains all round IMHO.

Also steptoes, further to what specul8 wrote earlier and in answer to your reply. A lot of the sales from later in the day were automatic trade outs either for price at the end of the day or a stop loss. There was a bulk buy shortly after and I would imagine a lot of the buyers will be just the previous sellers re-investing.

Personally I do think you went a little short, even just leaving it to the end of the week and I expect to see at least another 4-5% on what you sold for. Even today's peak was 107.50. Ophir is a good deal too however should Salamander stick with Sona or swing to CEPSA I can see a further drop in their prices.

This company is already massively undervalued, now with a number of potential suitors there is a chance of a bid war which will bump the price above and beyond. Specul8 £2+ would be nice and I do believe there is a potential depending on how badly somebody wants it. Regardless, there are 3 possibilities here and all of them seem good. Even if the Sona sales goes ahead this still values shares at £1.60+ and that is worst case. Competing bids will be above this but even if you want it play it conservatively around £1.40 like the brokers estimate this is an absolute steal. The reduction today should see the gates open to buyers and I personally think they would be stupid not to, a close this low could reward decent gains still - I am in for more. Specul8 I agree on the gains without offers being agreed, like I said with Sona alone the increase should be averaging £1.10+ by the end of the week.

With the news of other buyers chomping at the bit they will need to make the offer look attractive even at just 1.5 its still around £1.40-£1.45

Although thinking about, buyers would want in to Salamander on that basis so I would imagine prices will rise due to increased demand?

Thanks for clearing that up specul8, so in theory if that offer was accepted what is to stop people selling and rebuying cheaper instantly, wouldnt that cause a crash? Also what would Ophir share holders receive?

That would mean that Salamander share price should increase somewhat, in terms of us private investors how does that work. Do the brokers have to divi out Ophir shares to millions of poeple?

That makes sense, you are right on the CESPA part, not sure on the delay with that to be honest. Still a little confused regarding the sell/buy ratio and the way in which the price adjusts - it doesn't make sense unless we play catchup after lunch.

How do you mean taking your shares? Interesting seeing the number of people currently buying and the fluctuation and drops in share prices - any ideas?
