got my $ and £ mixed up sorry

about this potential deal the more I really do not want BPC giving it away on the cheap. I was previously thinking a $500m deal plus a 10% retention would be good but ........if I am correct in my calcs then the Major over time would pocket £43 billion minimum from potential STOIP ($30 per barrel profit) whilst BPC approx $5 billion.........if the oil is there. Now I know the major will be carrying all or the vast majority of the expense and risk therefore greater risk / greater rewards but at 89/11 split approx I hope BPC have been fighting for more......maybe 85/15......$800m upfront then 10%.
50p per share is a nice round number :)

that if there was any hint of major walking that would be defo leaked. Imagine being an employee with deferred salary on deal only to find no deal....you would be screaming to the heavens.....so as there has been absolutelt not a sniff of anything IMO all good here.......:-)

that is my take on it......nothing to stop deal landing on doorstep tomorrow morning.....unexpected for most probably but what is extra $250k to extend a few days when $500m maybe paid for a deal....... 3 months / 13 weeks in my mind was up before tomorrow and just lop off that extra $250k from the top line.

I am in profit here at these levels and the sp is only going north in my opinion......seems like you are the polar opposite of the meaning of your name if you cant see that ......good luck to everyone else

You are both most likely correct .......i am just hanging on / hoping for maybe a pattern emerging.....27th April RNS then 3rd May RNS so 26th July RNS maybe 1st Aug RNS ??
I personally dont think the 3 months exclusivity , 13 weeks takes us to August........I think it was end of July, 13 weeks from beginning of May.
Also whats the difference of an extra $250K when you are going to be paying maybe $500m +.
They would just knock it off the top line.

me when you look back into the history of BPC and the BG that the environmental approvals to drill have been given in the past therefore should be given now. Precedent has been set IMO. Safety procedures, equipment, responses etc are now far advanced to what they were then and quite frankly, as I eluded to in a post the other day, the oceans are at far more risk with regards to plastics and other pollutants being dumped daily from pleasure craft, which must number in the thousands in these waters. Oil spills are very far and few between and when it does happen money is no object to get it dealt with in a speedy and controlled manner. Daily dumping of rubbish on the other hand by the unscrupulous sailing fraternity is uncontrolled and a far bigger problem for the environment IMO.

the BG has yesterday embarked on a campaign to reduce the country's use of plastics which are " detrimental to the country's eco and marine system".
Maybe just maybe this is a sweetner to offset the EA approval to Oil drilling....?

price of oil just going to keep rising with sanctions against Iran kicking in next week and them threatening to close access to ports. The west needs this new avenue of oil to happen.
