I posted this thread on Wednesday encouraging us posters here to put up any questions or issues they'd like to see addressed or answered in the 10th November Roadshow.
Stokey, Si Derman and myself have put up a few so far. Let's take this opportunity to say what we think, and ask what we want. There are definitely some of the INFA board who must read this LSE page and anything posted here could very likely get to JW's eyes.
Even if you're not a regular poster or even a first time poster, get a post up and lets give INFA an idea of shareholder sentiment. Obviously try to keep any questions realistic and respectful.
(Personally, I'm excited about the 10th and hope to get an encouraging outlook and maybe even some news from this roadshow).
I seen a post yesterday on BBC news re one of our local hospitals in Derry / Londonderry. They're talking oxygen supplies and Covid related issues. Where do INFA come in you ask ? In the news item they state :-
' The hospital in Londonderry has developed a green, amber and red alert system to monitor the oxygen levels in a specially converted tank from Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast '.
Now this type of work for H & W isn't ground breaking massive contract news, but it might give an insight into some types of work the guys on the ground are doing between the ships and while waiting on the BWW's.
My marketing head is also shouting out to me that wouldn't this be a good social media post (even if it was only a days work doing this tank) with local industry assisting in the Covid battle.

I'm going to add a question to my own post and it's a very open and general question. It's :-
Where do you realistically see INFA in 1 and 3 years time ? If it can be elaborated on for the each part of the business then even better.
I've put this post up as I know we'll all have optimistic expectations from this 1st INFA Roadshow and no doubt we'll all have reactions to what we see and hear. (Poor JW. We'll be hanging on every word and how every word is even said too, lol). I thought about whether to put a post like this up as it could invite (but hopefully not) some impossible to answer questions. It might also produce questions that can't and shouldn't be answered by INFA either (ie commercially sensitive info, confidential at present info, etc).
Anyway. I've obviously decided to post it when you're reading this.
I'd be surprised if there aren't some members of the INFA board who have a wee peek at this LSE chat page sometimes. My point is, I therefore see this as an opportunity prior to the 10th for some of us posters to ask questions that JW may get to see, and that he may be prepared to address on the 10th. It would also be an opportunity for us to highlight subjects where we would love a bit more 'meat on the bone' if possible (ie FSRU).
This post may be pointless, but then again you never know.
So fire away folks. What would we like to see and hear on the 10th ? (Obviously keeping it realistic, respectful and hopefully positive too).
Cant answer your 12.59 post Si about paying better, but what I can say is that the Belfast Building Dock, where Oceanex Connaigra currently is, isn't just big, its massive. It would have been capable of taking all 3 Viking Cruise ships in dry dock at one time and even have room for a 4th if there was one.
If this dock was out of action with long term contract work then the Building dock at H & W at 300+ metres is still more than big enough to dry dock any ferry.
I know we see dock size data on maps and charts, but standing in the actual dry dock is overwhelming, the actual scale of it.
Personally I see Appledore as a more likely renewables site and Belfast being the big boats yard. A couple of 'if's'here, but if INFA do get bigger contract work and if the ML proceeds as hoped, then Appledore could also be used for Islandmagee fabrication work if H & W has a few big boats in.
The 2.5 millon Stena contract was for 6 vessels to dry dock. Im wondering is Adventurer the 4th or 5th one that's came in. Anyone ?
I would expect a standard response back Stokey along the lines of 'this application is following due process and a report will be issued on completion of our review'. Fair play to you though taking the time out to message them.
You never though too. You had a good response from the local MP Gavin Robinson when this maybe wasn't expected by many. He commented that he'd be keen to know where the process with DAERA was himself. I'm wondering did he have any joy here himself or anything that he could disclose.
I see in one of our local NI newspapers (Carrick Times) they're reporting today on a fund raising event that took place towards the 'No Caverns Campaign' against gas caverns at Islandmagee. Carrick (or Carrickfergus to give it it's full name) would be the nearest town to Islandmagee.
You may be familiar with Carrick as it's only several miles from Kilroot. Kilroot is the biggest power station in N Ireland
and it was only in May past that it was announced that it is to be converted to gas. Re the gas conversion, John Campbell, BBC News NI Economics & Business Editor reported back then that 'Without conversion, Kilroot was facing closure by 2024 as the coal-burning technology would not meet environmental standards'.
Kilroot, Carrick and Islandmagee are all within a few miles of each other and Kilroot is a big employer in the area. Hopefully Infrastrata will also be a big employer in the area soon, and hopefully too the campaigners will agree that INFA are of no threat to the beautiful north Antrim coastline that they quite rightly want to protect.
There's nothing new in this, I'm just sharing this link as it's INFA related.

Interesting Stokey re the 7pm time and well spotted too. I too would have said a daytime post would have been more the norm, particularly for the institutional investors.
Here's another twist though. They could make some sort of announcement during business hours on the 10th (or earlier that week), and then the 7pm roadshow later that day gives them the opportunity to put more meat on the bones of the earlier announcement.
Our glasses are both 'half full' for the 10th either way Stokey.
OC could float on out, VS could simply float on in, and we could even use the same tugs for both jobs for a double job discount. Last man close the dock gate (behind VS hopefully).
Thanks earlier too Mr D for your pluses and minuses post. It was a good balanced view of where we are just now.
As for JW and the 10th November. I can't see him having this big information day without some big information. Surely it wouldn't just to be told what we've already been told (with a few figures thrown in).
I'm envisaging something positive before, or more than likely on 10th November.
According to Belfast Harbour page Viking Sky is leaving the Ship Repair Quay (SRQ) on 31/10/2020. It also shows Oceanex Connaigra leaving Belfast Building Dock (BBD) on 31/10/2020.
OC was expected to leave sometime soon as it's been in dock sometime now and had a lot of work done on it, but does anyone know the situation re Viking Sky ?
I was hoping we were going to be holding onto Viking Sky for more work before she left. I wonder are we ? ?
Could Viking Sky be moving into the BDD when Connaigra goes out. ? ? After all both are scheduled to leave at 12 noon on 31/10/2020, or could this just be a coincidence ? To fuel this thought even further, the Belfast Harbour page isn't showing a next port destination for Viking Sky. Hopefully VS isn't leaving us but simply dry docking now for some work (as she's been afloat up to now in the SRQ).
The anticipation and excitement.
Anyone any thoughts. . . . or even better. . . . any knowledge on this ?
Stokey. Re your 8.17 post earlier, i checked the Belfast Harbour site last night and Stena Adventurer wasn't on it then. That's why i couldn't confirm if my info was correct as i didn't see it here or anywhere else online. Glad it's coming in tomorrow. For continuity of work it's good to see a ship in both the dry docks.
Having said that, I see Oceanex Connaigra is scheduled to leave on 31/10/2020.
https://booking.belfast-harbour.co.uk/ (Go to 'traffic expected' tab on this link).
Stokey, Im told by a friend who works in the docks that Stena Adventurer is next in dry dock, and its due in on Sunday or Monday coming.
I cant find any info on this though and its not on the NI Ferry Facebook page either.
My chum's not usually wrong though with his info, so fingers crossed we'll see Adventurer in H & W in the coming days.
I honestly do believe these VIP visits are a good sign too Tango and the most significant one was Boris at Appledore. Boris' ego and credibility would take a dent if Appledore didn't get something after his fanfare. I don't think he'd put himself in a position for that to happen.
Another link below from Afloat.ie on Appledore and potential MOD work.

You're right Stokey about challenges if independence was seen to affect the decision, but there's absolutely NO way on this earth that the government will openly say that it did. They won't even hint that it did (even if it did). It would open such crazy can of worms and would be political suicide for the Tories if this was said.
Your 15.13 point is a very good one Tango if Bojo feels Scotland will definitely leave. The other side of the coin though is if Bojo thinks he can keep Scotland on side. He might then just feel he could reduce the chances of, or even delay independence by sending some contract work up north to quieten Nicola for a while.
Cheers Stokey for your thoughts and taking the time to reply. I guess my first question is the one I give most thought to.
I appreciate you say any contractor could bid as long as they had a UK shipyard to join up with. With INFA having H & W and now Appledore and the Bab consortium having the shipyards on board that they have, would any 3rd bidder have many shipyards left that were capable of a contract of this size ?
My thoughts are that we're in 50/50 competition with the Bab boys for the FSS work.
The M.O.D confirmed yesterday that FSS ships will be built by British led teams. The only 2 parties i seem to see being mentioned these days for this work, are our own Team Resolute and the Bab/BAE/CL/RR consortium. I've some questions folks if anyone has any thoughts or answers.
1. If this work does actually stay in the UK, is this 'heads or tails' on which of the above groups might get the work, or is there the potential for a 3rd party that is capable of tendering on this contract ?
2. Could it be likely the government split the contract for the 3 FSS ships, ie say 2 to one group and one to another ?
3. Would there be any likelihood of Team Resolute and the Bab consortium saying to each other, 'lets work together on this as one group and get some business each, rather than us both take the risk of losing out' (to each other or another party).
4. Could the government 'instruct' (for want of a better word) both groups to come together on the complete contract to ensure work is spread geographically throughout the UK and not just in 2 or 3 specific shipyards ?
5. And finally, a controversial question. Is it possible that one or more parties in either of the consortiums could be working with the 'other side' to cover both bases so to speak ? For example, could Rolls Royce or Cammell Laird be in discussions with Team Resolute (should TR get the contract) or INFA in discussion with the Bab consortium (should Bab get the contract) ?
I'll look forward to a pint from ya Si, and if you can pronounce Grúdlann Gheata Naomh Séamuis with a good Irish brogue, Ill even buy ya a pint of the Black Stuff back, lol.
Hopefully if this Covid situation improves it might even be an opportunity for some of us posters to meet up at an INFA roadshow in 2021.
I'd only be prepared to have a jar with any of you folks though on the condition certain words weren't part of the craic. Those words would include license, marine, gas, riverfort, Lisa, Portland, Babccck or wind turbines (cause the correct term is obviously big wurley windmills).
(I reserve the right to add other words to the conversation exclusions and also the right to delete some of the above depending on developments).
Si Derman. Re your 13.01 post about you being rather grumpy with Appledore being referred to in the RNS as a 'so called' shipyard.
Don't be too upset about this as long as work comes to Appledore, even if it's not ships being built in a shipyard.
My reading of 'so called' shipyard has me getting even more excited about big wurley windmills, lol.
