I Agree. I was just merely pointing out the quarterly will not make good reading. Before xmas when the CDT SP i was $7 i was hoping it would stay around that range so we could release another quarterly update showing another increase in

portfolio value and keep the good news rolling, but unfortunately that won't be the case.

BigDave and I have both mentioned the website and shares held on the website but were told by a few other posters that this isn't a big deal as we should think bigger. I agree it needs looking at!

Hi Ltd Axis. the CDT had a book value of £4m in the September update due to that being the 'option value' , unfortunately after becoming a live investment the CDT SP dipped a little (SP was $4.55) on 29th Dec which effectively made the investment worth circa £3.7m so £300k less than the September update value. The Ensi price on 30th Sept was 69p whereas end of December it was 40p so again had a fairly significant effect on our holding there.

Agreed, CSFS and SKLS have seen an upturn in their SPs but as you said they aren't huge investments and are significantly outweighed by CDT and Ensi. Circa £60k uplift in those vs £500k downturn in CDT/ENSI...

But if CDT can move higher and the other continue to recover the outlooks should be fairly positive. Although we do not know what the BoD have sold to pay the wages etc.

Not the best start to the year for VELA but this was going to be tough while CDT consolidates its SP. The next quarterly report won't make for ideal reading as i just did a quick calculation and ENSI and CDT would contribute to a £500k reduction in the investment value based on the 29th December SPs compared to the book values at the end of Sept. Not that we were, but don't expect that quarterly report any time soon.

We just need to sit tight and wait for the CDT SP to rise again and sell a chunk to replenish the cash balance or as LtdAxis said, we sell the CDT shares off market at an increased SP. Either way we look to be stuck around this SP until we have some meaningful news/update.

At the time of writing we have an MCap of - £3.27m and an investment value of £6.2m so still heavily undervalued.

Well if they can get that sort of deal then they should go for it. SP sliding back again, will it dip below 0.02p again? seems ridiculous but then again this is VELA, and its what we do!

Yeah absolutely agree with the BB. They also sold some csfs at a much lower SP then it is now. Problem we have is they stay in these shares and seem to sell at lows, if they genuinely think they will recover why are they selling at lows. Terrible strategy but let's ignore all that and ignore the fact they can't keep the website updated more because we have CDT shares! Think bigger!

Hogbog I suggest you do your own research and look at the cash balance in more detail before saying it's not low. Look at the cash burn for the previous quarter (£100k) then look at the fact we have £30k at the end of September and think how long that would have lasted. We have 3 directors on £60k each so that £15k a month before contributions and bills etc.... they are selling off shares at losses to cover this currently. Would make sense to sell some CDT at PROFIT

Mostly everything on the RNS was already known and has been discussed on here previously. The unknown was that it looks like we couldn't sell CDT until 15th December. Hopefully CDT gets over $5 again for us to sell some shares and replenish the bank balance and maybe show the market VELA can actually make some money. Until we show that the SP will languish down here heavily undervalued. We need cash and suspect we would have sold more shares at a loss to cover expenses and wages.

Lets just hope the BoD took the opportunity to sell some while the SP was above $5, which it was for a week or so. This isn't me saying this after the event as anyone who reads my posts will know i have always said they should be selling some into the rise. Obviously CDT has the opportunity to rise again but VELA needs funds now and as most were predicting that CDT would rise to $10 this week the opposite has happened so far.

As Bouncer has rightly pointed out the SP will fall quicker than we climb when CDT falls even though we are still vastly undervalued.

Yes, I guess some days it went up on not a lot of volume as well though. Either way we have now ducked under the magic $5 mark, hopefully not for long.

Agreed, I don't think we have sold anything yet. Obviously Jimmy has made himself look a little foolish again with his rumours as there is no chance if VELA had sold that many shares it would not have been RNS'd here. We will have to continue to wait on news from our BoD, could be an interesting few weeks here depending on how the BoD play this.

There is a consistent seller of around 20m shares around this SP. When they finish would be nice.

Good work Dave. It would explain how CDT moves so much on small volume. The spread here is too wide again. Not sure the MMs know how to play this one.

I would agree with Asia but it looks like the market aren't interested in our investment in CDT either. We have been higher than this SP without CDT and one only has to look at the reaction of VELA and CIZ to see no one is interested in the CDT price action, doesn't make sense but its true.

Noodleman, as much as some will say you are being negative, everything you have said is 100% true. The investment page on the website is wildly out of date as you say. Doesn't even have the right number of shares owned in most of the companies as well as having some not even on there. The quarterly investment gives you the investment value as calculated by them. We have no way of working out ourselves due to the constant selling of shares with no update.

But you should look past all these little things and think bigger!! lol
