And lo and behold spread increases to 4%...Good Luck Folks. TT
Forgive them SHEL for they know not what they do.....
102,120,602 shares issued in GRG. Makes my 279 seem a bit weedy. How many do other people here own? TT
Lots of wisdom. Thankyou for your insights...
IOG continues to intrigue me and so I took a look at some charts this morning. There are obviously some technical reasons accounting for the recent fall but nonetheless, the charts throw up some interesting facts. Up to Mar 2022 there was a nice steady rise, then a dump till Jun 2023 where IOG lost around 45% share price. Then came a pump over the next month till Jul where it gained around 60%. There was a mini double-top which preceeded a dump again (to Nov 2022) where it lost about 70%. A mini double-bottom in Nov preceeded a 70% rise to Dec 2022. Another mini-doule top. Then the dump phase began again. Question is: Are we still in dump mode or has this bottomed out? Indeed around 70% of the share price has been erased since Dec 2022. On 1Y chart the share price has crossed the lower BB line twice before each rise (pump phase). Double lower BB line crossover can be a strong buy signal as it indicates a double sell rejection. Share price has just crossed the lower BB line for the second time (again). Could this be a sign of imminent rise? 6m, 3m and 1m BBs are a mess and no conclusions can be drawn. 6m, 3m, 1m Moving averages indicate that we are still in a period of strong selling. However, oscillators are showing signs of turning and indicate that momentum might be changing in favour of bulls. With so many conflicting signals my stance at the moment remains mixed and I wait for IOG to show it's hand across a few more indicators telling me buy before I dip back in. Good Luck to all, do your own research, time your trades and don't put more on than you can afford to lose. TT
This geyser is about to blow...Question to experienced Oil and Gas investors/traders: On news, how quickly can we expect CASP share price to pop? I'm imagining a big pop when news announced as everyone tries to pile in. Over this period, MMs can keep spreads in double digits to prevent PI traders from exiting without taking some of the profit for themselves. This is the 'pump' phase. MMs then control the point when the big sell off commences. Thus we enter the 'dump' phase. MMs exit themselves but control the 'spread' to normal punters whilst again raking in the cash. Some PIs also hit stop losses or get jittery and exit further hitting the share price. Then when the share price hits false bottom and PIs feel it is good time to re-enter the cycle repeats. Seen it before. Be careful, set your stop gains and losses wisely, time your trades and don't get caught in the 'dump'. Good Luck. TT
The spread (+6%) on TMT is too big for me at the moment. Also looking at the 1Y chart, TMT has been in a falling wedge since last August. Late Feb hit 52W low (2.5p). Anyone with the nerve to buy then would be sitting on around +60% profit as it rose rapidly. Since then it has formed a pennant and the BBs are tighter, normally a pre-cursor of a move. We can see concurrance of this on 6m, 3m and 1m charts. Finally, the share price in the last 2 days has crossed the lower BB line (Usually a strong buy signal as it is a double sell rejection). If it were to go above 4p, recent high, you would be looking at +30% profit. All points good, but that +6% spread leaves a bitter taste and is putting me off. Good Luck me marras. As ever do your own research. TT
My thoughts are that this could be an before open/after close RNS which gives MMs more chance to mop up before us PIs get the crumbs. Be careful. TT
Tripled my holding yesterday. Now watching and waiting.
TT
From highs around 40p this seems to be exceptional value at 5p per share. I'm tempted to jump back in and ride the train back up again. Question to those more experienced in oil exploration and production: What are the risks of IOG going belly up?
TT
IMHO, share price will not start to really take off until shorters leave the scene. Could be mid-teens by end of year if shorting drops to around 1%. I think this would put us in safety zone and attract more investors who have been put off by the uncertainties surrounding the business. Next figures if good will do a lot to ease worries. I for one will be averaging down when I feel that the tide has turned upwards. Currently sitting at a loss so holding. Fundamentals still good but you never know in retail. Good Luck everyone. TT
Hello everyone. I'm new to this board. CML has hit upper BB line on 6m and 3m charts . SP correction after period of rapid rise. Encouragingly, 1m chart indicates first crossover of lower BB line. Look for second crossover then expect rise to follow. As ever do your own research and look at multiple signals as well as company and market backdrop. Good Luck. TT
Hello everyone. I'm new to this board. Watching CML for good entry point. Classic double top on 3m and 6m charts followed by the drop we are seeing. Looks a bit oversold TBH but still not hit the bottom IMHO. Do your own research and good luck everyone. TT
@ragingcow38. Having been burnt by tipsters early in my investing life, I decided to track ST's weekly 'buy' predictions from 7 Oct 2022 till 2 Dec 2022 (4 editions). This was to assess the validity of his claims being new to IC. I created a spreadsheet which would compare the original price at the time of tip with the current bid price. This amounted to 52 shares. As of today, the average % increase was 10.25% (inflation matching). The biggest riser was CMCX (CMC Markets) at 140%. The worst performer was CML (CML Microsystems) at -42%. I also created a virtual portfolio investing 2k in each. I would have been 10.6k up on a portfolio of 64k over this period. 33 out of 52 plays are in profit. Not bad and certainly would have paid for the subscription. Nobody can get it right all the time but I was quite impressed. This was only over a short window of time and whether another window would be as impressive remains to be seen. As ever, take the time to do your own research and back up with multiple signals. There is froth in the system when IC announces a 'buy' as PIs pile in so timing of the trade is essential. Good Luck. TT
Expect a dip after ex-div date as the incentive for some to benefit from the dividend disappears until the next cycle. It will be an opportunity to top up my existing holding. I expect BARC to do well this year on the back of high net interest rate. BARC seems to be undervalued relative to others in the sector so barring fines and shenanigans this is a nice stock to hold. TT
Hard to believe that this is back at 2016 levels. I mean really?! Looks a bit oversold IMHO. If they can overcome technical difficulties no reason why this shouldn't come back. I'm tempted, but something in my mind making me hold off pressing the buy button. I think it's the lack of transparency from the BOD and the number of unmitigated f*** ups in the past. But I am tempted I have to say as if it returns to previous levels you'd be looking at potential 10x returns. I see the demand for the gas growing but I don't like the management style. Weigh up the risk/reward and DYOR. TT
Yes, RogueRiver. Another one to add to my 'wait until in profit then escape' category. Thankfully it was only a small holding in my SIPP and I can afford to wait. I can see this tantalizingly trading water in the 170s for another year.. Hopefully decent div will console shareholders for all this s***. TT
Last time I bought these I escaped with a meagre 2% profit but was glad to get out. The company was rotten then. I left it a few years, things seemed to be improving. Nonetheless after researching in depth I bought in again (185p) only to quickly find same rot emerging, which I could not have predicted. Big drop today, normally you get a bit of a recovery in the afternoon. You would think that with lending rates up that these would be the next boom sector. I'll watch these until they get me black in the black then cut and run. Laughable broker ratings. Never touching them again no matter how tempting. TT
