I too am a recently retired patrol.15 Oct 2020 17:15
I managed to retire from The AA, and had been buying shares sinse the start of the share purchase scheme, and at the maximum amount each month.
When I retired the price was about 50p, I didn't sell, as I would have lost too much money. When they dipped to about 25p I bought loads of them, and then when they get back to about 40p I sold, I think I was up by about a £1000.
If the shares drop again to about 20p, which quite honestly I think they might, I will buy back in.
It is a good company, it just has this massive debt from previous owners, Permira and CVC i think it was. When The AA and Saga split, Saga bought some luxurious cruise liners, and The AA was straddled with this multi billion pound debt. I wonder if SAGA still have the cruise liners, The AA certainly still have the debt ??????.
AM I bitter, no, I'm not, I'm glad I have retired, and the job isn't what it used to be, but nothing is.
I can see this share getting up to maybe £2 when the debt is cleared, but until then who knows.
