@Bob182071 this RNS is a real fillup to me, as someone who was locked in and reading all the doom and gloom, it can be disheartening to have no real information about a report that is already available from Deloitte to show Wood being a going concern. With the recent contract wins and this proposed sale, nothing would give me greater pleasure than actually being able to hold these shares on a longer term basis. It also shows that the shares have some value left in them.

When there is talk of an offer less than 35p I'd have been up voting against it on principal even if it totally crashed into liquidation and wiped me out, but with this RNS I can genuinely see it being an option to just keep on doing what they are doing as a British Company, that would also allow me to continue to be a shareholder.

@headder with the Orange one causing tariff chaos and uncertainty, this is a real opportunity for B&M buyers to buy really well from businesses previously supplying the US, got to make some interesting deals for companies looking to diversify. Are there items that French buyers are getting that could add novelty to UK offerings and vice versa.

The new CEOs talk was interesting and it sounds like he has hit the ground running, so providing the New Ellesmere Port imports centre is running correctly (it will manage inbound container flow and optimise the capacity of B&M UK’s five existing distribution centres) things should be fine for the important Q3 period.

@Toffers - While Aldi don't have a loyalty scheme, Lidl actually have a very useful loyalty App caled "Lidl Plus" that really encourages folk to ramp up their monthly spend, it is currently a free bun at 10quid, free fruit at £50, free pasta, sauce or olives at £100, free clean product at £150 and a heady 10% Coupon for up to £200 worth of groceries when £250 is breached. The Lidl Plus app also has digital receipts, what I'd really like is to allow more than one digital receipt to be clickable and individual items could be used to create a shopping list in store order for it to be truly useful.

Should B&M bring in a loyalty App, I'd like them to do something creatively like the digital receipt to shopping list type thing I've described, with a ramping up of spend leading to discounts or freebies, it could also demonstrate some of the new products on sale, when popular items previously purchased come back in stock and a store finder.

A little over a month later and a little risky punt would have made quite a bit of money. Looking at the share trades, this looks like a classic pump and dump with slightly different round number buy orders on a regular basis, so I've bailed out at quite a bit lower than what it is now trading at, as I don't trust that I won't be left holding the baby, if I try to be greedy. However I have a stop limit order for when it comes down again to what I perceive as value, rather than speculation.

I'd have thought this is the dividend with-holding tax that Luxembourg now imposes at 15% to UK residents.

I thought the video https://edge.media-server.com/mmc/p/qx5d964e/ from the new CEO was very impressive, sounding very like someone who knows how to retail properly and is getting to grips quickly with B&M. It might take him a while to really make things ship shape, but looks to have hit the ground running and looks to have given store bosses a bit more at autonomy to react faster than the 28 day promotions. I'm getting good vibrations from the CEO and that will have a positive knock on effect to the B&M staff. I want to see B&M issue regular bonuses to staff as shares with 5 year vesting, that to me would make sure staff interests will align more with shareholders interests.

I've been averaging down today, but haven't been able to buy anywhere near the 221p mark, this is going to be a long term hold in my portfolio for me so being able to buy shares at a lower price is a 'brucey bonus'.

Use your filters folks rather than get personal, stops you worrying about what folk write. Stuck a few people in and it is amazing how much nicer things are.

That AGM was a total disgrace though, showing contempt for Shareholders that managed to make it. Likely bound by takeover panel rules, but come on nothing on recent contract wins or any details of anything. Not happy at all.

Well what can you say, this is a complete punt, likely to bleed you dry, Stardust Power Inc. is a development stage manufacturer and refiner of battery-grade lithium products designed to supply the electric vehicle industry. Has a whole 8 employees. I've taken a small punt.

The amount of gardening stuff during the spring Q2 and the gardening, home decorating and fans related heatwave tat should really help Q3.

After a completely disastrous rights issue in February this share has tanked much more than it should have. Shares by my reckoning are at least half at circa $0.22 of what it actually should be and they as a minimum should really be over $0.80 if not a lot more.

Having thought of the RNS minding to accept the 35p and Suspension and the all important covenants, the BoD have probably played a blinder with the kicking the can down the road extensions.

Let me explain, banks are the folk who give you an umbrella when it is sunny and take it away as it is raining, by talk of accepting the bid and Sidara adding in finance it took away pressure for them to fold after the covenant breaches. The BoD were obviously aware of the pipeline of contract wins likely to land. Having won these contracts what banks are not going to want all this lovely mulla flowing through their coffers.

So new contracts that make money in combination with the suspension have allowed such a quick turnaround that a much enhanced offer is more likely and if it isn't there is a much higher likelihood of refinancing with the banks and if necessary going it alone with a rights issue also being more acceptable for a non basket case.

Just my 2P, but really I'd love to see this as my long term hold, rather than just getting a quick profit.

It is my understanding that the CFO did not hold qualifications to be able to call himself a "Chartered Accountant" which I believe is a protected title that is not a freely used term that can be bandied about without having the appropriate qualifications. I'm sure a certified practicing accountant would be okay in most circumstances, but when folks are cooking the books on a previous CFOs watch, you become the collateral damage if you have overegged your qualifications to include a protected title in open source websites.

Imagine how much that oversight by the CFO and the lack of checks by the Chief Human Resources Officer (given the long lead times to employ new CFOs I'd expect they'd have a minimum 3 to 6 month handover time, possibly even 12 months, especially if a FTSE 100 company) has cost WG shareholders, at a guess at least a £1Billion if not considerably more.

That's more or less the equivalent to 30p a share, so there is demand somewhere. However the volume will be tiny

Much as I'd be happy if it happened, New bidders is only really wishful thinking to my mind. Sidara need to be careful they don't pitch their offer too low that it gets rejected or at a level that it does invite new bidders in, if only to spike Sidara from getting a book of work for pennies in the pound.

The more likely scenario is If they withdraw again, they would automatically barred for 6 months and that is when they could be usurped by a new bidder without the competition of Sidara bidding the price up.

Don't get me wrong, if Wood had the banks backing to continue to go it alone I'd be all for Sidara being told to jog on, as the book of work Wood has is very positive, but Wood can't go it alone without the banks money to keep the lights on.

Cashflow is King, it helps prevent attacks like Sidara and the shorters from working and it gives options when things are going wrong.

My measly holding of .WG shares is not going to make a blind bit of difference (I'd like to hold for the long term), but the real elephant in the room is that of the great orange one, who yes is looking to reduce interest rates by disrupting and introducing instability, but look how that is playing out in the bond market, things are getting more expensive not less and it is tanking the oil market, which is still a massive part of how Wood's customers make their money. There wont be much business at all if Brent Crude stays in the $60s. (The one bright spot of that price for me is the lack of money going towards paying Russia to kill innocents abroad)

Stew200 - if you mess up and have to restate your year ends for 2022 and 2023 you are breaking covenants that instead of giving you the luxury of renegotiating the credit before October 2026, actually changes the rules and probably makes the finance immediately payable. As it is the banks involved have given waivers until June 2025. This is why the share price has tanked from a heady 230p to 18.44p at suspension.

With higher interest rates, Wood's debt becomes relatively a lot more riskier than the alternative options the banks now have. Loading up with debt is inherently risky when interest rates increase. Or as I like to phrase it, a bank will give you an umbrella when it is sunny and look to have it back when it is raining.

Has anyone tried to work out the latest institutional share holders involved and what percentage they hold from the Disclosures in the RNS that they have to make. I had a made a list back in March that included derivatives, but I'm sure it is very out of date.

MrGonzo, the Institutional investors are nursing a very serious loss at 35p, the employees are also nursing a very serious losses at 35p, even Ken is nursing serious losses at 35p. I highly doubt they'll get a 90% vote for an offer at 35p. Then there is the various regulatory hurdles in the various jurisdictions to overcome. A lot of folk would rather go it alone than sell, in fact a lot would rather run it into the ground than sell at 35p. The comms from the BoD are just so bad, I know they have to be careful, but it is like they want the company to fail.

Real institutions see through the noise, they aren't divesting like private investors are from what I can see, they are sitting tight. What do they know that the rest aren't seeing?

Obviously there will be Chinese walls in place at the bank syndicates to avoid waivers being discussed, but a lunch here, a school pickup there, a discussion over at a dinner party will prevent a total disaster scenario of a missed bonus.

Perhaps they are wrong, but they are pretty used to coming out on top.
