But I must say that the financial authorities have a lot to answer for. I grant that big holders include hedge funds, but this share is being manipulated quite blatantly.

My guess would be that if BT gets the football rights, the share price will fall. If they fail in the auction, the share price will fall even more

It’s a generalisation to say BT is an ISP only. There are a number of companies within the group and they don’t all offer a retail broadband service - just saying

BT is not an ISP

Faultsman My understanding is that there will be a long transition post March next year and during that period the rules stay the same - plenty of time for DT or anyone else to bid for BT should they wish

Tim what new low did you see ? SP is treading water. Market seems to have settled without testing £2 which is small comfort to long term investors

I’m not buying but not selling out either. This malaise may have some more legs below £2, but it will run its course eventually I hope. Stop to think about UK government policy going forward if this company lurched even further down. Maggie would be turning in her grave. Chairman and CEO need to start doing what they are paid for. Namely get on the telly and ask people would they invest billions for a paltry return whilst the competition go for the hanging fruit and leave BT the rest. If we don’t see some change in government/Ofcom policy - call their bluff and sell open reach

Agree Smasher. I am in for as long as you and will hold. But I think the results today were irrelevant. Much of it was known. Market doesn’t like the future for BT and this so called new strategy. GP needs to get some wins and get Ofcom onside, otherwise he is gone

Tim, my guess is if results are in line with city forecasts, the sp will tread water until the pension review is known if results are poor 5-10 per cent fall
