It’s likely that the market will react badly to the results whether they are good or bad. SP will tread water until Drahi declares his intentions.

Don’t disagree with your post Fleccy. Just seems the market doesn’t concur. So you are really suggesting that there is a conspiracy against the share with no hope of an upturn.
I for one am very confused that the consensus on openreach is generally positive in the market and it’s value is thought to be worth more than BT in its entirety.

I’m a long term holder and obviously pleased with any rise in the SP. But is this market for real ? Is it being regulated properly? What was the news today that wasn’t expected to cause such an 11% rise? London market is a farce

Results day hasn’t been good for the sp for a while.

Don’t understand why the cost savings have been confirmed before Thursday ? Is there bad news coming or more good ?

I doubt the sale will have much impact on the SP. I’d be more interested in the price on results day. Past experiences and the current bearish sentiment don’t augur too well.

There were comments attributed to Drahi that he didn’t feel the need to float openreach. I don’t know if those comments were accurate. But I believe the market wants BT broken up, so that could be a reason for a retrace.
Alternatively, he probably knew that those comments would knock the sp and therefore drive any takeover price down. Guess he is playing the long game, but I don’t know if that fits with his MO

Not gonna argue with the charts, but the sp was on a higher trajectory. Then the only thing I can think of happened - the comments attributed to Drahi.
A guy like this must have a plan, just intriguing as to what it is.
