As LLL says Walp, you have to do what's right for your circumstances. If you're at a stage in life where you don't have or want to take any risks, then what you've done makes perfect sense. I've still got around 10 years to play with but if I was nearer retirement, I'd be doing the same for what it's worth.

I'll join this list too MrC - I can't beat Mr James but I've just checked my holding and, as of today, I'm over 93% down. This is without doubt the worst investment of my life and I'm actually embarrassed about being mugged off by the fat controller. Worse still, I even had the stupidity to average down two or three times over the last 12 or so years. On the plus side, it's put me off AIM for life so at least I won't make the same mistake again :)

Thanks Bannor - yes, I always vote and I can do it through their portal but they never send notifications to advise when voting is open. Good to know it's 30 days in advance of the AGM though.

Agreed - I've heard SMT being called many things over the years by disgruntled investors but never a snail share. It's about as volatile as they come.
