Gary may have some problems because some of the criteria for “are you really an employee?” are difficult for him:

Can you work for competitors? (ITV, Sky Sports)
Do you have to follow instructions? (e.g., from a director)
Do you use their tools and equipment? (cameras, studios)
Can you send someone else to do the work in your place?
By these criteria he is probably a quasi-employee of the BBC. Defying BBC rules and keeping his contract might counter-evidence HMRC’s view that he’s effectively an employee."
I expect all the other names you mentioned Guitarsolo don't have any tax issues, there's always a story behind the story.
Everyone is entitled to arrange their affairs to minimise their taxes, it's just the way you go about it and being a lefty he just had to have a pop at the elected government, the conservatives, just like you.

Since March 2022 Lloyds has only been above 50p on two occasions, very rare indeed.
Don't get carried away, being a Lloyds investor is a long game unless you're a trader.

Sam Woods, head of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), said that while scrapping the bonus cap is probably the “single most unpopular thing we have proposed”, he defended the policy suggesting that it could actually lower the total rate of bankers’ pay.
Regulations on the bonus cap were imposed by the EU in 2014 after the financial crisis. It caps bonuses at 100 per cent of annual pay, or 200 per cent with shareholder approval.
Other proposals include overhauling the EU’s Solvency II rules and reforming the bank ring-fencing regime.

The Bank of England has admitted that Brexit is making the City easier to regulate despite issuing warnings against the Government’s plan to axe swathes of red tape.

Senior Threadneedle Street officials told the Treasury committee on Tuesday that leaving the bloc has been good for competition and for the overall safety of the UK financial services industry.

Vicky Saporta, executive director at the Bank, said: “Leaving the EU produces opportunities for us to manage our financial system in a way that’s more appropriate.

“We can tailor things to UK circumstances to facilitate competition and competitiveness but also, given that we have a massive financial system in a medium sized economy, we can be flexible when we see risks arising and not be constrained by a harmonised [EU] system.”
