RE: Another week....17 Nov 2019 11:54
Talking about statements, how about something on the direction of BEM.
I wrote this a week ago -
Can any investor here shed any light on throwing money at Vardar Minerals?
I guess by the response, just like me, nobody has a clue either, or doesn't care.
Has no one here any concerns investing in a private company who by law have no obligation to release ownership or financial statements?
We, BEM have over 40% of this private company
and we should be entitled to scrutinize their dealings and accounts.
Clearly, they are struggling with cash flow at this moment in time, or so it seems, we appear to be the sole financiers of Vardar's exploration programs, are we? We will never know.
The latest fundraising of £250k last week (November 8th) was to support two projects in Kosovo and ‘’general working capital purposes’’ that could mean anything.
How much are Vardar's director’s fees, including that of Mr Budge, who is also a director?
Don't forget we are diluting this share to fund not only Vardar's projects but also to pay Budge's additional fees, not to mention the other two directors. It's a well-known ploy among the murky waters of fledgeling companies, creating a web between listed AIM and private companies usually the former financing the latter. And of course, all these directors have to be paid with expenses, nice work if you can get it.
I may be a cynic regarding these matters but have we been here before? Remember Wayland Copper (Budge is still listed as 'active' here) and the involvement with Energy Ventures that was supposed to be a 50/50 joint partnership and we ended up raising most if not all the funding.
Incidentally, Wayland Copper/Energy Ventures owned 30% of Agricola at one time. I didn't want to mention Agricola, we all know that story.
One year ago BEM invested £250k in Vardar for a 14% interest, now exactly 12 months later £100k will only get you 1.4% why? Something doesn't quite add up here.
Who is backing Vardar apart from BEM?
Why are they selling off their own company when as it appears it is increasing in value, they are not generating any revenue?
With these diversifications, nobody knows exactly the final outcome (I'm assuming the directors do) but clearly we as investors haven't a clue.
At this rate of increasing valuation, it won't be long before you are reading about a reverse takeover of BEM by Vardar Minerals, stranger things have happened.
I'm not comfortable with this rush into the murky world of multiple tie ups between private and AIM-listed companies.
A decision on Kallak can't come soon enough and if its positive the sooner I can move on.
This share is moving in the wrong direction IMO, but clearly others are more sanguine about the present situation.
I've said my piece, any comments would be appreciated, enjoy the rest of the weekend.
