I've never been one to keep quoting prices Mvarawa, like anyone knows what's going to happen to the SP today, tomorrow, next week or year end. I guess it makes them feel like they know what they are talking about.

Probably a good call, as Putin has signed an order re: gas payments in Roubles from tomorrow. If this goes ahead albeit a gradual ramping up, markets will suffer. We're not immune here in the UK.

Since BEM's last purchased slice of Vardar, the o/a valuation has increased by over c£2m, Why? No additional work has taken place and we now have over 50% of the business.
Reality check.
1st March 2022. £200k bought us (BEM) 2% of Vardar and took BEM over the 50% ownership threshold. 49.4% to 51.4%. Value £10m
Less than one month later on the 30th March 2022 £1m bought BEM 8.1% of Vardar 51.4% to 59.5%. Value £12.346m.
What the feck has Vardar's BoD brought to the party? I guess they will continue partying, and they can afford to as the valuation of their decreasing company has increased by £2.346m in less than a month.
Are these monies for the increased stake in Vardar, to finance the drilling or both?

As you know I didn't take part in the last fundraise as it was priced very near to my average.
Consequently I didn't pay much attention to the details, only the fact that the open offer meant that I couldn't sell my rights. Not sure of the new share ratio to existing holding or even the discount, but irrespective of that, rights issues are rarely that beneficial to existing shareholders especially when the company involved has no income stream. Invariably the SP drops to or very near the issue price anyway, I wonder why? Could it be because after a fundraising those shares are issued and the SP is diluted, so as a consequence it drops.
You did not increase your share of BEM by taking your allotted shares but you certainly increased your monetary input.

A media that wants to make the news and not report it. The leftwing never cease to knock UK plc every chance they get. In so doing they get their daily 'pop' at the government of the day which at this moment in time is surprise surprise the Conservatives.
You'll be surprised (again) about how many are 'smarting' over a vote almost six years ago and it's mainly the 'left' who can't get over it. As usual they can't understand why people have differing views/opinions.

Europe's economy more so than the UK is increasingly strained by Russia's war in Ukraine as growth stalls, confidence plummets and inflation soars. Spain's inflation, as theosus mentioned previously is 9.8% and Germany coming in at 7.3% the risk of a recession is substantial.
With Lagarde caught in the headlights unable or unwilling to act until the end of the year, just think how fortunate we are here in the UK. Remember there are contributors on this BB who are still smarting that we never joined the Euro. If it was up to Blair we'd be part of that shambles, one of the things Brown got right, thank goodness.

There is no absolute poverty here in the UK, only relative poverty and compared to the super rich (if the measurement is monetary) then I'm in relative poverty.
If the measurement is contentment then I'm doing 'okay mate.'
You need to start traveling, then you may experience firsthand what absolute poverty actually is and means, but you won't find it here in the UK.
