Exactly Theosus, government make policy's and the different departments carry them out. Relying on the 'system' to make it happen. Although individual ministers are supposed to responsible, in reality they are only the mouth piece.

CBBLS and furlough were not unique to the UK. At that time virtually nothing was working and the furlough scheme helped millions of ordinary people, without it, the suffering would have been worse. That's not to say some took advantage, but the opposition were calling for evermore support. Peeps were moaning that it didn't include the self-employed etc. In short it was popular and not many objected.
CBBLS was the same, it helped many smaller companies at that time although I had some reservations that it was open to abuse, but only because the likes of Lloyds were dishing out the funds.
It was the administration that was at fault, not the actual schemes IMO.

As for EDF the French government already owned over 80% of EDF and they had to buy the rest because of mounting delays and costs to their nuclear program. Looking like we're not subsidising them enough, we pay Up to but not over the price cap.

However, even LKAB with their intimate knowledge of the Swedish system have neither the desire, or at this stage of the proceedings any reason to advance a move on the Kallak deposit.
Likewise any other potential suitor, hence my last post "I can't think of any reasons but I'd like to hear some."
In short, it's too early and there are too many unknowns about the process outcomes, the deposit and BEM's other licences in the immediate vicinity.

There's a consensus here that a 'white knight' would come charging to BEM's rescue as soon as the government made a positive decision.
Of course those in the business are aware of Kallak, but why would any established mining company want to make an approach to BEM at this stage?
Too many uncertainties IMO.
I can't think of any reasons but I'd like to hear some.

The Sami are not going to let this go, and remember any government or future government decision that is made, can be changed or even reversed. Nothing is cast in stone and we (BEM), haven't reached the point of no return yet. Obviously the more BEM invests, hopefully the more compensation could be claimed.
