I never suggested I was hoping for riots. My reasoning for substantial unrest is that we have multiple huge unaffordable gas and electricity charges charting to the moon coming down the pipe before years end.
If nothing is done household's and businesses are going to the floor. Prices of everything will skyrocket out of control. A supernova global recession making 2008 crisis appear as a dwarf star in comparison could be on the cards.
I was lucky in that I could invest in fallen shares at back end of 2008 banking crisis and made a few quid.
I don't want to be too much in this year and get sucker punched by a huge market correction as in 2008. Be careful yourself mate and play it careful this year.
We have both had a pop at each other so that makes us square. Best of luck with your picks.
All the Georgey.
Legrandestdick.
Yeah, Pig. Clint one of the greats. Loved him in the pasta westerns. The scene when he dons a home made steel bullet proof vest and keeps climbing up of the floor still lingers in my mind, the movie 'A fistful of dollars'.
Best of luck Porky.
Lgen to 3 quid and beyond then even I don't give a damn.

No, b and w movies too old for me.Seen Cagney in 'White heat'. "made it ma, top o the world" comes to mind.
"you talkin'to me?" De Niro, Taxi driver mid 70s maybe. Good film. Go on VD make my day, stick to winding up that chiming clock.
Financials a little bit better performing today. Out of favour yesterday. Anyone any ideas why.
Thegrandedick.
The punk who is using the dick term.
You talking to me, punk.
I too also agree with a lot of your comment too. These Connie's and the guy with the fez always said they were always going to ensure that work would pay. It seems that the only guarantee they are giving is that work for millions of us ain't gonna pay the bills.
I predict riots before years end. Ain't gonna be pleasant.
Plenty getting free everything. Just tune into PM questions on Wednesday's at 12 noon you will see em all there freeloaders the lot of them. No heating or eating choices for them.
Shares and markets are always up and down like an April brolly. They have ridden wars multiple recessions in the past 100 years. The markets always focus on a singular event so it seems. At the moment it is eying the potential of a Russian Ukrainian peace deal. If this works out OK the the focus will be back on the economy with our idiot chancellor who would be suited more with a red fez and a pack of fixed cards.
He the guy with the fez thinks he has pulled the wool over our eyes with his bizzare tax giving mini budget that has ensured that more of us will be in a horrid place deciding between heating or eating and old folk freezing to death swathed in blankets.
Let's hope he is forced to give us back more of our hard earned to save the day. I think not, he seems to think that levelling us down to India poverty levels is his agenda.
Aviva is worth at least 5 quid a pop taking all generics into account. Vice like grip on mine till they reach a fiver.
All the Georgey.
Ah but there is always a but. Is all this mumbo jumbo consolidation already baked into the pie.
I am in but again I hope it is not a pie in the sky.
All the Georgey.
Aviva sp worth at least a fiver. I expect the sp to jump over a fiver on confirmation of SD.
So come on Mrs White get a move on and give us at least a quid a pop.
All the Georgey to all holders.
Maybe something filtering through on a big move in the insurance sector. Direct Line Group maybe. I am in on dlg big. They are an obvious target.
Hi SD,
Nightmare is correct on the 8 day wait for cashed in bonds. It is easy to control your premium bond action via on line account.
Google 'how do premium bonds work' to find info.
You can soon acrue a decent chunk of bonds if you add regulary, or just buy a chunk with some savings. A lot of people are shifting cash into premium bonds because savings rates on accessible accounts are so poor.
The beginning of every month has a slight anticipation in our household as wifey goes online to find out if we have bagged a biggie. Last month produced 3 x 25 quid prizes. Maybe this time for a million yo.
There are 2 one million quid winners every month. Every 25 quid ticket has a chance of bagging one.
A million quid has been won with holders of just a handful of bonds. Premium bonds are just a huge electronic raffle but the difference is your investment remains the same and is included in all future results until you decide to withdraw funds.
Prizes are tax free and do not have to be disclosed for tax purposes.
Buy a few and give yourself a chance of a life changing win. I love my premium bonds and plan to hold them as long as possible. Much more enjoyable than having cash sitting in a useless bank account.
All the Georgey.
I have half my cash in share ISA, quarter available for dealing day to day on big drops and the other quarter in premium bonds. My premium bonds produce lots of prizes between 25 and a hundred quid. Premium bond cash is safe but not inflation proof.
I am happy with some cash in premium bonds as maybe one month I might get lucky and get a mega prize. On average at the moment my premium bonds are producing around 2% on my investment. The bonds bring a bit of fun in investing with a chance of a million quid every month.
Premium bond cash is not locked in and can be accessed easily if needed. There are lots of prizes allocated tax free to holders every month between 25 quid and a million quid.
Why not buy a few and give yourself a chance to become an overnight millionaire every month.
Don't worry about it mate. Lgen will go over 3 quid a pop, Dlg over 350p and Aviva over a fiver. Just sit back get the divis and top up on big falls. All the Georgey to all.
Are you shares in an ISA account. You can invest up to 20k a year in shares ISA. So over 5yrs you would have 100k invested.I am led to believe any divis paid in an ISA are tax free. Have you got a share ISA account or have you maxed up this year.
Recent retracement maybe due to murmurings of covid restrictions being extended. Sp recovering over 4 quid may also be due to covid restrictions being fully lifted on time.
Any whiff of a takeover offer will give sp a huge boost.
BOL.
7 billion raised so far with 8 businesses flogged off successfully. They can clear 2 or 3 billion of debt, can well afford a quid a pop with 3.929bn shares out there. Not a penny less Mrs Blanc will do .
Probably 12th August interims dividend mentioned.Substantial return of capital mentioned as ' later in year' ,maybe the how much in interim statement mentioned along with normal divi statement.
Anyone confirm.
' Substantial Return' has made my decision to to tell the dealer i'm raising here. How much would it cost to give us all a quid a pop for each of our shares.
How many shares of Aviva are out there.
