Well done Indy0105 you have worked it out straight away. The pathetic performance of the share price is directly related to the green policy of Bernard Looney.
Have you noticed how quickly the BP pr machine (spights and meoryou) react with venom when people point that out.
Cheers.
Found this old link. Might be interesting.

Speculative Gamble.
To read the flattering posts and obvious love in today between 2 posters was very revealing. It goes to show that BP is now quite Pink at heart.
The truth is that BP is now a speculative gamble at best, hoping for returns following massive capital expenditure. I invested in Rock Solid oil company headed by a hard nosed American Oilman. I wish I wasn't so "locked in" with huge losses and overexposed.
Gents,
One thing has puzzled me over the years and why the BP lawyers didn't make more of it in the subsequent court case.
It was reported that Haliburton were the contractors employed to plug the Well. If my memory is correct it was suggested they employed 2nd hand materials from another well (Kodiac) to make the necessary "foam cement". Wasn't it this botched job that led to the disaster.
Gents,
During the depths of the 2020 pandemic and self inflicted wounds saw the BP share price collapse. Pre Covid Bp tracked shell almost 4 to 1. In the summer of 2020 there was a time when BP was about 250p with Shell at 980p. That was my chance to jump ship but I bottled it, largely due to my enormous losses. Today with Shell at over 2130 my relatively investment would be worth BP 530p.
That is where we should be today. IMO.
Gents,
Is it time long suffering BP shareholders copied Extinction Rebellion tactics. We could build barricades of oil drums outside BP London Headquarters, maned by furious old age dinasors shouting slogans. "We love oil" "Bernard out" "We want our dividend back"

No to Oil, Yes to Renewables.
I've just twigged. Is our dear leader a convert.
Meoryou
"BP right or wrong is just silly I have been a shareholder long enough to see major mistakes like when they diversified in the 90s and every business got sold later for a loss, and many others"
Let's hope for all our sakes history dosent repeat itself.
