Dear AlbertPode,
In response to your question:
“…instead of just playing with an abacus, why don't you try thinking like an entrepreneur?”
When lockdown was confirmed, EVRH’s comms team should have immediately reached out to NHS Charities Together to offer a ‘deliverable’ 3D benefit broadcast, possibly through the conduit of Virgin Just Giving. MelodyVR could have offered free content to really accelerate download numbers, with additional content available for a nominal £5 donation to the COVID -19 Appeal. MelodyVR could have also facilitated the provision of free headsets to recovery wards in landmark London and Manchester hospitals.
Once charity buy-in was secured they could have engaged H&S consultants with a medical pedigree to advise on a dynamic refit of a London studio e.g. partitioning, to ‘creatively’ ensure the venue’s compliance with Public Health England guidelines. The consultants would have been retained throughout the event(s).
Piggybacking on the NHS name, MelodyVR would have been pushing at open doors booking the talent (I am certain John Gore would have introduced a few luvees to anchor the streaming). What was not provided for free could have been funded from the Accelerated Book Build revenue. A finessed event(s) could have subsequently been rolled out in NYC donating to Medicare.
It genuinely depresses me how this company has failed to exploit this commercial opportunity – sadly it’s difficult to be bullish about its future.
Rgds,

kingofkeighley - the last line of your post yesterday made me laugh … a lot. Thank you.
