sorry 9crompton.cannot really help as i use II also as they will let you trade in HK shares which for example HL will not.i agree II have become very expensive and was thinking of changing but recent developments may mean that i may buy more Regent and may want to be able to buy and sell easily which you can(at a cost)with II.this is not a suggestion to buy more Regent by the way.not intended as advice

i suppose i should add a couple of points for balance in case i come across as too one sided.first the amounts that mellon and abony are investing are i suppose quite small compared to their overall wealth.that said they do appear to be growing which indicates confidence.second as china is clearly a main focus there are regulatory and regime concerns as always with china.however these are things that can change at any time for better or worse and as investors they are imo simply risks that have to be accepted if one is aiming for growth in this area just my opinion of course

morning dougie .if i can kindly refer you to my post of 17.24 on tuesday you will see it mentions EMMAC and gives mellons and abonys holdings in it of 8.2 and 7.4% respectively.EMMAC is a recent company set up in 2018 to import and market medical cannabis products in europe.it seems to be in the process of acquiring european companies to deal with the european marketing and as its focus is i think europe its significance directly on regent may not be that great but as evidence of mellons and abonys interest in this area it is i think quite relevant.my thought is that regent is going to become a similar vehicle for activities in china and asia which does seem to be the plan.there is quite a degree of interconnectivity between the various companies so i hope its not just a house of cards.i am feeling very positive about these developments but its important to bear in mind this is going to be imo a very competitive area.there has been very rapid growth i believe in canada which is feeding through to europe and it looks as though mellon and abony are hoping things will take off in china and asia in the same way or more.hope I'm not being over optimistic

im afraid i cannot offer any illuminating insights but i am assuming they are not buying in the expectation of the price dropping at least in the long term.i don't think we shall see a significant rise even with institutional buying until there is evidence that the trading issues have been addressed but as soon as we start to see this there will be a significant increase.just my opinion.

just on an anecdotal level i went into the local branch of Holland &Barrett at the weekend(nationwide high street retailers of health foods vitamins etc for those not familiar with the UK) and was confronted immediately on entry by a large display stand devoted to CBD products.many of them seemed pretty pricy to me.this suggests to me there is going to be fierce competition in a potentially crowded market place but also possible benefits from lower cost online marketing which may be Yooyas niche.jus idle speculation of course!
