In a Utopian world Astra CEO Pascal Soriot would step up to the crease with a counter offer giving poor Pfizer share holders a win-win future. Soriot would promise to remove the whole board within six months and to have reduced most of the over managed structure within a year, saving millions by appointing competent people from within both companies. Pascal could offer 1 Astra-share + £10 (around £56) for 4 over-valued Pfizers-shares. Has anyone waded through all the dross spewed out by Goldmad Hachs? Ask yourself would you trust your granny’s pension-pot with a load of schysters?

Personally I am not invested here; wife has too many; sons have a few, 4 daughters-in-law have between 3K & 8k shares each, Grandchildrens trust funds have them. We have 3 ex-senior M&S managers over now and then. From what I hear, I am not impressed with the current crop leading the down turn, I would like to see a management clear-out and replaced by better breed, so that in 5yrs time the shares are at a peek. That is when the first trench of grand-kids will be using their trusts to pay University fees... One of my interests at present is SOLG currently running at a 3.2-to-1 return for me. In answer to your perceived ‘rant’; my wife will say ‘Ignore him’; sons, ‘Lay off Dad’, D-in-Law, ‘You’re awful, you can’t say that, what about use’; the grand-kids will have me out in the garden kicking my feet and shins in playing. M&S Sales are Rubbish, NOT a BARGAIN in sight. PLENTY of big RED-Signs falsely claiming 50% off, then in TINY LETTERS, ON SELECTED ITEMS ONLY ….HA-Bloody HA …none to be found…on the rare find it’s £45 down from £49.50.. ..$4.50 is NOT a 50% reduction. They MUST have really DUMB managers thinking they can fool people. My Wife, Sisters-in-Law & Daughters-in-law all love M&S and have all their schyte-store-cards, yearly-fees and free(?) coffee vouchers…lovely jubbly....so I get dragged around as chauffeur bag-carrier and watch….Tills barely troubled…disappointed faces…Even the wife had to accept this years M&S sales were King Krapp…it was like asking the Rabbi to deny Elijah. M&S managers must come from the same school as that Kalamity Klunt Klegg to devise such an extremely poor show…can’t see sales figures for Christmas looking good.

I agree, we Brits are damned good; sadly PM Devoid Camembert is proving a disappointment at present.

BT=parochial & ready for take over, grossly over-paid for PL so dividend will suffer. Where as BSkyB = international, still with divi good. With shares in both, it's great to sit back and watch the swings.
