Forget the chancellor, this budget will be Rishi like the last set of changes Jeremy Hunt made. Rishi he is not going to COP 27 so can he can spend a lot of time working out the details and telling the chancellor what to do. Jeremy Hunt was put and kept in place to do Rishi bidding.

No chance that the windfall tax will hit the big companies more than the small producers, Shell and BP are globalist companies in touch with the government, Rishi loves big corporates after all his family owns one and he worked for one. Shell and BP will promise to do some more green stuff and end up with less tax. Rishi will also do what he thinks is best for him and will make him popular like the large handouts during lockdown, he come first before party and country.

I took a bit of a punt on these shares when Kistos interest announced, figured I will add to my Kistos holdings if taken over or if not the board (as usual so) will mount a good defence bring out as much good news as possible, perhaps upping dividends so share price would rise, win, win. Unfortunately board asleep and of course get hit by UK government again (why don’t I learn), better to stick to my overall plan and buy companies mostly (or preferably completely out of the UK), multinationals are good now because no one government can tax them into the ground and they have some influence with governments. Made a big investment in DEC over the last few years and feel a lot more combatable on it long term prospects as outside the control of UK politicians.

The Government are not unsupportive, they outright hostile to Oil and Gas and at best regard them as a cash cow. Why would anyone wish to invest in energy in the UK including green, the conservatives will not allow any hardly profit they want it all and Labour will nationalise it with very little paid in compensation.

Just look at the conservatives Hockey ****y tax polices for the last few weeks/months
Put NI up, then take it down.
Put corp tax up, taken down, put it back up.
Put dividend tax up, take it down, put it back up.
No windfall tax, windfall tax, no more windful taxes, more windful taxes.

Add in no fracking, then fracking, then no fracking even after they voted for fracking a few days back

What sane person would invest in the UK except big American tech who are allowed to pay no tax.
