Yes its a bit odd when competitors do this. In the back of my mind one thing keeps popping to the front is with all these past patents in place i do wonder if some deals are being done behind the scenes to allow usage of the IP.

If your infringing someones Patent but get permission under an agreement on a fee per unit it can make good business sense.

So iam never sure with Tech if any deals are done behind the scenes. With all the info i have read on the complex patents sometimes a competitor is not really a competitor.

Longshot i know but in this instance it would make sense.

Yes i do that with trackers in vans, damaged or changing vehicles, remove and replace a few days or weeks later.

Recently at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2019, Freightliner, a Daimler Trucks subsidiary, unveiled its Class 8 Freightliner Cascadia which is being hailed for its innovative automated driving features. The company would be adding Level 2 autonomous technology to its trucks later in 2019.

For the record, Cascadia Level 2 autonomy is designed in lines of Nissan’s ProPilot Assist, Tesla’s Autopilot and GM’s Super Cruise as it allows the driver to take his hands off the wheel but is able to over-ride the autopilot mode whenever necessary.

Interestingly with $133 Billion in the bank Microsoft with LG want a slice of the DMS pie along with others. We dont know whos in bed with who or whats going on behind the scenes. Being the leader and all this exposure Iam sure a big fat cat will want a piece of the pie soon iam sure aswell.

How do we find out whos got what patents?
Ive seen reference to SEE patents and many older ones from a few going back years.
Surely some one spent years developing a system for others to copy will have some protection?
As a person who spent £100,000 on patent infringement 24 yrs ago I know how complex it is.
