At the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Veoneer (NYSE: VNE and SSE: VNE SDB) will showcase technologies, solutions and research that will support the evolution of cars well into the 2030s. It is predicted that in 2030 the vast majority of all cars sold will include advanced technologies that provide collaborative interaction with the driver, while a fraction of the market will be fully autonomous cars.

In Collaborative Driving, the car is handling parts of the driving, but the driver is still engaged. This evolution will, over the next decade, bring completely new levels of safety and convenience, benefitting car occupants and society at large.

General Motors plans to introduce a record of more than 20 new and refreshed models in China in 2019 to maintain its growth momentum in the world's largest vehicle market and tap emerging opportunities in new energy vehicles (NEVs).
About half the models being introduced this year will be new nameplates for GM's China portfolio, developed by leveraging GM's global expertise and vehicle design and engineering resources.
“China's vehicle market has entered a new era of high-quality development, in which product and service excellence will be the key to sustained growth,” said Matt Tsien, GM executive vice president and president of GM China. “GM will continue to optimize our product mix, backed by our industry-leading technologies and adjacent services, and explore more opportunities in electrification and autonomous driving.”
China has been GM's largest retail sales market since 2012. Besides speeding up product launches and the upgrade of its brands to meet diverse demand nationwide, GM is exploring the introduction of new technology such as Super Cruise.

With so many Companies showing all sorts at CES next week can we have updated chart please Lewbo so try to fathom who is working with who. Ive been researching so many companies my heads spinning trying to work out who is actually working together. The auto supply chain is certainly complex with Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers aswell as direct supply to the OEMs.

On seeing the original last week i poo pood it because looked like just a camera in the right ups. Now iam not so sure. It seems like they have not decided from this report i read just now. But got ready for it. Maybe still deciding what system to go with but DMS a good option.

“[Volvo chief digital officer] Atif Rafiq was discussing what camera technologies potentially can do in terms of safety features such as attentiveness detection in the future, however Volvo Cars does not have any plans for driver facing cameras or related features this year,” Volvo spokesman Stefan Elfström told Digital Trends via email. He added that the in-car camera is only at the concept stage, and it may not appear on a regular-production car in the near future.

In the original report, Rafiq presented the camera as yet another feature Volvo can add to its cars to make them safer. The prototype camera he was referring to monitors the driver’s vital stats on a regular basis, and takes preventive measures if it detects something is wrong.

“[Driver-facing cameras] are very advanced these days: they can determine a driver’s glucose levels by looking at their pupils, so [it] could call a loved one or hospital if it detected a health problem. Cars will understand your state and de-stress you on your way back from work,” explained Rafiq in an interview with British magazine Car.

Selling In China 1st, massive market bigger than anything else. Read the reviews on Byton and lets see. For me its an opening in the Chinese market. Why do you think GM have been going in hard in China promoting Supercruise.

Chris I must of mis read an article last month about going in every model. If its only optional extra then take up on the CT6 was upto 20%.

By then hopefully Euro NCAP wont be giving 5 star ratings to any vehicles without DMS so shouldn't be long before all will have as standard.

Even 15-20% take up if option is a nice figure :)

I meant isn't Suburu serviced for DMS by the Israeli competitor?

Had it a few years now already with another supplier. We have 4 majors as SEE said earlier but hoping confirmation of at least 1 more win, if not 2 win RNS's very soon.

One company cant take 100% of any market but at the moment we have 44% of the 9 major players in the USA, Europe and Japan.

I still think China, Russia & South America will be a big market so least GM in them all already before any of the other wins are considered.
