What Is 3D Eye-Tracking?
The introduction of 3D eye-tracking software, or using consumer depth-sensing cameras to track the eye-gaze, opens up exciting new applications for human-machine interactions in the retail environment. As opposed to standard eye tracking, 3D eye-tracking technology remotely tracks visual attention from as far as 1.3m (4.3 ft) away, in a non-intrusive way.

Off to CES show next month to take pics & ask loads questions of all the different exhibitors & car companies. Hopefully sniff out some info & decide if this Gem turns into a Diamond?

Veoneer will be at CES 2020 in Las Vegas January 6 - 10, 2020. Veoneer will demonstrate a new product on the roads of Las Vegas, which allows drivers to simply push a button when driving and then take their hands off the steering wheel and let the car safely handle parts of the daily commute.

This will be the first time the company shows its advanced capabilities on public roads. The vehicles at the show will be equipped with sensors, computers and software that are either available today, or just around the corner, including the full Zenuity system software capability which will be commercially launched in 2020.

One other thing we noticed in Cadillac’s teaser is a light bar on the Escalade’s steering wheel, indicating the SUV will get Cadillac’s Super Cruise system. Super Cruise allows the car to take over steering acceleration and braking on certain stretches of highway (which have to be pre-mapped). While it does reduce the workload, Super Cruise still requires an attentive driver (Cadillac uses a driver-facing camera to make sure you’re still awake). Super Cruise availability was limited to the Cadillac CT6 sedan for years, but Cadillac is now adding the system to its higher-volume models.

I wonder why Lombard mopped up nearly £2 million more?

The Driver and Passenger Monitoring System processes image signal data from within the ****pit of a vehicle, tracking fundamental human characteristics such as head position, head angle, eye tracking, nose tracking, mouth, body pose and more. Using this data the system estimates driver or passenger states over time such as distracted, drowsy and emotions, as well as tasks such as drinking or eating. Driver and passenger state data is piped into the advanced safety technology which can then take appropriate action as necessary.
