Auto way ahead thinking about it. When have we seen an article on DMS on new trucks? SEE better start a new Dept for new truck development as they will be knocking on the door soon. After all 2021 is nearly upon us & the window getting smaller.

So we know SEE dont like talking money. This is one brand thats planning to put it most/all models.

Do the maths at £10 pop approx x 6/7 yrs contract value & puts a smile on your face......

The great thing is all these models with our tech in being planned by the forward thinkers.

But how many Autos are still kicking the can down the road that are about to decide what to do as standard?

But the cream for me is legislation, when that kicks in. Not much said about it but all those many millions of buses, vans, trucks etc will be looking for a solution in both new and older models.

Lucky we know someone to help them be legal i guess :)

After Smokeys accounts post the other day I decided if i wanted to listen to idiots talking nonsense I could go down my local Ruff pub & listen to idiots waffling rubbish.

Pressed the filter button & surprised how satisfying it is not having to read the same tosh on any SP weakness.

In this case, this is actually allowing the driver to be aware, so it can take over if something goes wrong, but not be as involved as it would be at the current system. Of course, it has got to monitor whether the driver is actually still there. That he's still got a seat belt on, or her seatbelt on, monitoring eye tracking. It's got a black box in there, et cetera. And it will pass back control to the driver if it can't cope, but it's effectively the first time that the government's moving towards actually producing a legal definition of whether an automated vehicle can go on our roads or not.

The board’s recommendations to eliminate distractions mainly center around banning the use of electronic mobile devices, such as cell phones, whenever operating a vehicle.

Marketing campaigns and increased enforcement should accompany any new laws put in place, ensuring knowledge of the rules and compliance across as many vehicle operators as possible.
