Driver Attention Monitor is a vehicle safety system first introduced by Toyota in 2006 for its and Lexus latest models. Driver Attention Monitor can detect distracted and drowsy drivers by accurately measuring eye and head position, driver attention and fatigue. The system’s functions co-operate with the Pre-Collision System (PCS). The system uses infrared sensors to monitor driver attentiveness. Specifically, the Driver Attention Monitor includes a CCD camera placed on the steering column which is capable of eye tracking, via infrared LED detectors. If the driver is not paying attention to the road ahead and a dangerous situation is detected, the system will warn the driver by flashing lights, warning sounds.

One thing we don't have full disclosure on is technology, and that's usually where Mercedes makes the biggest waves. A Reddit thread sheds some additional light in that area, specifically with regards to autonomous tech. If the information is accurate, the new S-Class will be the first production vehicle to offer Level 3 autonomous driving. Before you jump into the comments about Audi taking that honor, the automaker abandoned its Level 3 ambitions on the A8 in the spring. The problem isn't the tech per-se, but rather, the legality of telling drivers when they can take hands off the wheel, and eyes off the road.

From launch, the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost’s array of sensors hidden below the grille will allow basic Level 2 autonomous cruising, although a year or two into its life it’s thought this will be upgraded to hands-off Level 3 driving capability on the highway.

Thats great news!!! We only had A$8 Million cash burn last 6 months. So this half & 50% of next half will be covered by it.

Sees own cost cutting was planned to Sept so We may get away with $8-10 mil again & we could even see around $18-$20 million for the start of next FY. By then we should see some decent Auto Income.

On top of this by next July 1st we should have an extra $3.5- $7 million monitoring Turnover added for fleet sales from now until then. Add on the Hardware & installation costs of $9-18 million ( less distributors discounts etc) It should be a very decent FY despite Covid.

Once we get to mid 2021 better get a couple more accounts people in the office as willl be needed ;)

We had in the circumstances a small but positive initial results with more cash than 2 brokers expectations. We had the F150 launch, the Mustang launch, a GM launch, the Mercedes launch next week. No big announcements from SEE yet.

Had my pen paper yesterday on Values of contracts that appear from us lot but no mention from SEE. Someone said they have 200 vehicles. So if use 200 and ignore contractors vehicles its a nice contract. Based over 4 years value.

200 x $2000 Guardian units = $400,000
200 x $500 installation charge = $100,000
200 units monitoring @ $65 month x 48 months = $624,000

TOTAL $1.24 Million

Costs:- Commissions, installation charges, Monitoring costs etc but not a bad figure for 1 customer i guess.

For Hitrans the subject of fatigue monitoring has become a high priority and it is now keeping an eye on eye movements. As a large national fleet trucks criss-crossing the country in large numbers, the company has trialled and is now fitting Guardian by Seeing Machines systems in all of its trucks. Monitoring behaviour with face and eye tracking, algorithms measure the driver’s head position and eye closure and, when safety parameters are exceeded, audio alarms and powerful seat vibrations are immediately activated.

The units which are keeping an eye on eye movements are now fitted in all of the company owned trucks, but Hi-Trans are now considering including Seeing Machines in the discussions with the operation’s contract fleet. It could well become a standard piece of kit that contractors are required to fit.

“Either of two things can happen,” says Tony. “With the individual owner driver, we would monitor them as though they were an employee. The fleet operators would be able to monitor their own fleets, but as part of the arrangement, they would report back about their own proactive steps.”

What you will find is OEMs using different products for different models & even same model differences on packages & upgrades. Its all about the extras, upgrades & subscriptions.

So as a supplier you will want every option in your armoury.
