Honda was among the pioneers of hybrid powertrain tech, along with Toyota, but just like its main local rival, it too has now fallen behind other automakers that have invested massively in fully-electric vehicles. Now in order to make up for the head start that others have gained, Honda’s new CEO wants the automaker to team up with another company that has more experience.

Toshihiro Mibe, who was appointed Honda CEO in April of this year, is a former R&D boss for the manufacturer and he helped the manufacturer maintain its relationship with General Motors. He therefore has experience keeping partnerships between automakers going, and he would like to set a new one up with an automaker that has more advanced EV tech, according to Automotive News, in order to advance its own.

One of the first confirmed applications of Snapdragon Ride will be coming in spring 2022 in the Cadillac Lyriq, the brand’s first electric vehicle. The Lyriq will come standard with the latest version of the hands-free Super Cruise driver assist system that now runs on the Qualcomm chipset. This is coming only one year after GM launched its second-generation Super Cruise on the Cadillac Escalade, CT4 and CT5. The 2022 GMC Hummer EV is also going into production this month and includes standard Super Cruise.

I do wonder what both their expectations are for the SP & timeframe?

$10 million is a nice chunk. So are they looking at 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x? And over what period of time?

1 Year, 2 Years, 3 Years?

Cant see it much over 3 Years and min has to be 4-5x imo surely?

2022 was always the Year it starts so iam gonna sit back and watch how it all unfolds.

Instead they bought another $10 m at 11p.

Kinda says what you know already on where this ones heading I guess.
