Anyone who wants to can go back over the forums during period of the litigation and see that I am spot on. One weekend before the final settlement was announced there were 1000 posts all ramping a billion dollar settlement and refusing to hear anyone who disagreed. The company even issued a cooling RNS that was ignored.

They did it to themselves and worse than that, a year and half later, they'd make the same errors over and again.

The truth is that within a few weeks of the legal case being announced a small cult of forum posters inflated inside their own bubble had convinced themselves Nanoco could only win. A few weeks after than they'd convinced themselves that the amount of damages would be so large as to break records and that Samsung must be terrified. Then they tripled the damages for wilfulness without ever locating any case precedents where any judge had made such an award.

Then and with no apparent legal or business management experience among them and no professional legal advice they ignored and bullied away all those who tried to tell them to be more cautious.

They only listened to Tenner when they could interpret what he said to match their beliefs. They ignored his warnings. They ignored that he was not in a position, in the middle of a litigation, to express anything but extreme confidence publicly. They ignored and excused institutional selling.

They brushed aside a similar case (Amgen v Sanofi) changed the precedents and the respective law only a few weeks before the Nanoco vs Samsung the case was settled. (By the way the existence of such a case is mentioned in the recent Hamoodi v LOAM summary judgement as a reason why there was concern at Nanoco.)

In the event Nanoco still settled £150 million, which by any account is still a huge sum. It could have easily gone the other way with Nanoco owing costs. Had Nanoco refused this offer and been awarded less by the jury then the law would require them to pay all the costs of both sides from the time of the offer.

The moral of this story is to listen to others and not only when they confirm your biases. They are trying to give you a great gift.

You never understood what Edison were trying to tell you because you had no experience of the whole legal context, which remains way over your head. You could have listened but didn't and you've now got a self-inflicted chip on your shoulder that's big enough to weigh you down for the rest of your life.

So long as Cavendish didn't exceed the price of any independent bid a the time they could be the buyers but why care so much when the potential is so far beyond the current price?

The end of Samsung was the inflection point. Growth after then won't come in one huge surge on the back of a single halo product but incrementally as the technology gradually becomes ubiquitous. There's never going to be much to see except in improving results reported twice each year.

The social psychology on this is well understood and described. There's an interesting Wiki here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Prophecy_Fails) about a cult of believers lead by Dorothy Martin who believed they'd be rescued by aliens from catastrophic flood before dawn on 21 December 1954. The cult was infiltrated by a psychologist who wrote the first book on the subject.

There's quite a lot of read across because what we see here is the remnants of a cult who thought that by being loyal to Nanoco they'd be rescued financially by Samsung.

Dorothy Martin's descendants still survive and the cult continues even though there was no catastrophe and no alien rescue, they keep finding other reasons to believe rather than accept they were wrong.

The cognitive dissonance over the damages in Samsung is still playing out in Hamoodi v LOAM and the negative comments on the forums. The disdain of management being a preferable answer to the obvious one, which is they were wrong about the amount all along.

Nice to meet you too. I don't think there's an agenda or tactics. The muppets' menagerie think that their gripes are justified and that management can learn from them and are reading.

I have a nice person who comes to do the ironing and cleaning here once a week. She's convinced Covid was created by Bill Gates, that her headaches are down to chemical trails and that all the wet weather is caused by cloud seeding. There's no getting through, we can't discuss it now. It's more like that in my view. They are all part of a cult who thought they were bound to benefit hugely from Samsung but their prophesy failed and they can't reconcile themselves to it being wrong from the outset so they are inclined toward any other explanation.

Many tried to tell them long ago before it got out of hand, including me, but reminding them just makes them hate all the more. They think they're the good guys and that all the others like us have it upside down.

Probably my fault. I don't like the unjustified negativity and constant whining for information. It comes down only to a few, and is mostly instigated by Kooba, who recently re-invested and is already writing indignantly to management. I have never encountered anyone whose sense of entitlement exceeds the limits of possibility so massively. It's as if he lives in his own Faraday cage of ego and ignorance, inviolable to penetration by the better knowledge or wisdom of others.

His constant gratuitous barbs, libels and general muppetry supported by his menagerie of Troublesome and Too Good To Die (who isn't) are distinctly wearing.

Fact is that if the market misjudged the settlement then this forum had most to do with it. Some weekends there were hundreds of ramping posts. It didn't take a genius to see you were all headed for a fall or to foresee the disappointment that would follow. You were told often enough but, as usual, you thought you knew best. You even ignored RG and LOAM selling.

We now see how unwise you were and how you haven't learned from your failures.
