RE: Helikon Short Positions15 Apr 2026 12:31

I agree that they were betting on ITN collapsing. Also, they have great difficulty buying anything back during periods of low trading volume, which could trigger a short squeeze.
I, too, they have been running a detailed spreadsheet on Helikon and Qube. I don't bother with Voleon because they are a machine learning-based trade house, so will not be here for long.
I have Qube current average at 64.66p, which is from 57 separate Inc/Dec moves. Losses to date on their reductions of £800k. They are, of course, now well underwater. Curious as to why they did not close out when we were at our lows. They did close their parallel short on Ceres and walked off with £1.8m. Basically, Qube arrived too late and did not leave at the optimal time.
Helikon's motivations are something of a mystery. Current average £1.31. They have banked profits of £7.6m to date, and I expect they will reduce fairly quickly now to bank some more while they still can.
