I completely agree with your analysis re: not many invested here are interested to sell and this is why volume are so low. It does not attract new investors (Big or small) and therefore it is very easy to manipulate the price as the volume is so small. I appreciate that we currently are under our usual average of 3.15 OP but I am quite happy with this level. The next 12 months are going to be brutal for the economy and I expect a few bumps along the way.
I wonder what they will do with the final dividend? Any ideas?
I was joking, however your previous post reads now like Nostradamus stuff. I am slightly underweight compared to my historical holding, so I am looking at buying back. If I get 118 and 110 is the bottom .... I am happy. As long as the trades I make are positive I am not fussed.
Having said that it is a big swing from 174 to 117 in a few weeks ... Genel .....
Boyobach is a genius ..... I will probably buying a tranche back tomorrow .... or two . Lol.
The volume is so low that the price can be moved very easily one way or the other. At this price just the dividend is fantastic but trading a bit of your holding does not do any harm.
Let a see if Sara comes good on Q4 to move Genel in a different producing bracket. I see the gas as as likely as Somaliland was until last year (I am not sure it much different today). But just on the oil it is a nice little producer (ok with Kri being a bit irritating at time, probably not so easy for them) which even with the current headwind, still produces cash, has next to no debt, and a mountain of money in the bank .....
Glass half full for me ....
Well if it goes down, I will get some more . Thank you for pointing out the trend. So far so good for the little trading ... it makes watching the action more interesting. I wish I started years ago, lol! Still a long term hold for me ....
New oil in Q4 should help (potentially BB ... you never knows) but we have to bear in mind that it is only in early days for the economic crisis following Covid. I think it will be a bumpy next 6 to 12 months and this should affect us one way or the other.
It will be interesting to see how they allocate capex. Obviously it has been reduced massively as we know but we seem to have 3 hares to chase ; namely BB, Sarta&QD, and Somaliland. Personally, I still think Somaliland does not quite add up (I would be really pleased to wrong), BB is very political so it might happen when the KRG is really squeezed (Or not? Who knows). The chevron fields are the more likely for me as it is fairly straight forward and it is exactly in the company current field of "expertise".
With less cash available, BB oil might be possible, gas less likely. Somaliland would also require a lot of cash ..... farm out? Any ideas?
As for the dividend ..... There are good reasons to suspend or reduce it .... Will they? I don't know, it depends on the wider plan they have ....
Not that easy to sell any volume at this level ...i tried to sell another lump and was offered just over 146 when the price was almost 150 ....
It has been levitating at this level this week, it can't last ... The lack of volume would suggest a pull back ...
In terms of production, we are expecting fairly low levels of production for the past quarter. Guidance going forward will be intetesting, as will the progress on the new chevron fields ... Somaliland being a bit of a red herring for me, even if the latest noises are a bit more promising.
What do you guys expect from the next trading update?
We never know but personally I don't see it happening. It would be compounding the problems inherent to KIT, buying an asset with (I am saying buying (TO) not merge) lower grade oil that is not as resilient to OP drops. It makes more sense to keep the cash for developing our existing assets and what is still to come BB, Sarta, QD .... I might be wrong but I can't see it and I hope not.
Thank you Boyo,
I am just started this morning and I aim at doing exactly as you do. I am a bit bored just looking at it and your strategy is pretty much spot on. Sadly, this is not 25% of my holding .....
As long as they don't land something big then why not do it and even so with most of the holding untouched it is not much of a worry. Reading your posts for the last few years has been very helpful and hopefully this little trading is going to work out ....
