Baxdrostat demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful reduction of systolic blood pressure compared with placebo

Positive high-level results from the BaxHTN Phase III trial showed baxdrostat at two doses (2mg and 1mg) demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful reduction in mean seated systolic blood pressure (SBP) compared with placebo at 12 weeks. The trial also successfully met all secondary endpoints. Patients with uncontrolled or treatment resistant hypertension received baxdrostat or placebo on top of standard of care. Baxdrostat was generally well tolerated with a favourable safety profile.

There are 1.3 billion people worldwide living with hypertension.1 When uncontrolled, hypertension can lead to a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure and kidney disease.2,3 In the US, approximately 50% of hypertensive patients who are on multiple treatments do not have their blood pressure under control.4 Growing evidence points to aldosterone dysregulation as one of the key biological drivers of hypertension.

AstraZeneca shares have jumped on reports that CEO Pascal Soriot wants to move the FTSE 100's largest company to US.

The Frenchman is frustrated with restrictions on medicines and pricing under the NHS, the Times is reporting.

He does not like the restrictions imposed by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), which advises the NHS on which treatments, including medicines, are cost-effective and should be funded.

With the FCA investigation starting, I can see this, taking a protracted period of time. My view is that I wouldn’t mind Sidara now walking away. Let us all see what the accounts finally say, and has any impropriety occurred. If so, I hope the people responsible get severely punished. I truly believe this company will be great again. Could be a statement such as this ;

In his ruling, Tappin refers several times to the economic success of AstraZeneca’s blockbuster, marketed under the brand Forxiga. Forxiga is indicated for treating type 2 diabetes, heart failure and chronic kidney disease. The company also holds market authorisations for products containing combinations of dapagliflozin with other active ingredients. SPC/GB13/021 relates to dapagliflozin and, with its associated paediatric extension, is due to expire on 13 May 2028. SPC/GB14/050 relates to a combination of dapagliflozin and metformin and is due to expire on 14 May 2028.

The ruling has caused a stir for its dogmatic approach to the plausibility argument in pharmaceutical proceedings. AstraZeneca has stated in its Q1 results that it will appeal the decision. The company can maintain its preliminary injunction against Glenmark until there is a final decision on validity. The current market status therefore remains unchanged.

This has been a great share for me. Long may the share steadily rise back to its true region of 6-9 £
