Sidara’s latest takeover proposal may be a bitter pill for shareholders given what could have been but, with Wood’s share price now bombed out after a series of damaging admissions and given the parlous state of its finances, it may be the best deal going.

Sidara has confirmed that it has made SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS with its due diligence on Wood, INCLUDING in relation to its review of the points raised in the independent review commissioned by Wood.

Accordingly, the Board of Wood has indicated to Sidara that, should a firm offer for Wood under Rule 2.7 of the Code for Wood on the terms of the Possible Offer, it would be minded to recommend such an offer to Wood's shareholders, subject to agreement of the full terms and conditions.

Nothing else matters now. I will collect my 35p at some stage, in next months and move on. Sad for Sir Wood who built his dream !!

This was my headline over the weekend but got shouted down with several abuses it doesn't look wrong now except it was over ambitious saying all that surprised today's price isn't around 30 pence mark

If this deal goes ahead with the support of both boards and Wood shareholders - and allowing for cautious legal language, that now looks likely to happen - it means the loss of another major Scottish company into the hands of a foreign owner.

I've taken a big risk this morning and bought 200K shares at 28p. I see value based on the 35p conditional offer. I think now this is the REAL MINIMUM closing deal of WG.

Hope I have not fecked up again. Either costly or nice little profit of 25%. Hopefully £14K easy money....................IMO

I remember Astrazeneca using the pension fund surplus 30 years ago to strengthen financial stability.

I’m surprised WG group having said that it’s a surplus in excess of $250 million in the pension funds have not utilise this at this moment in time to overcome the current issues of the liquidity 🥴

The $450 injection equates to 50p per share that will go to the business but not to us long suffering shareholders !!

DD will have been done to within an inch of its life by the Sidara squad. They want this company and current SP is of literally ZERO relevance to them. Therefore, it will go to the wire (i.e. deadline) after all, like many negotiations do. Some huge II's in this company.

Sidara wants Wood. Will Sidara put up or shut up? That is the $6.2 Billion question............

RNS could happen at any moment. We will know soon enough. If not, recovery will happen, covenants will be re-issued, refinance will be a box ticking exercise, and the CEO will be culled and the SP will steadily rise over 18 months to over £1 level easily. Hyper confident from this little fish in the ocean 🎁😊🎉👌🎀

Meanwhile the Wood share price will fluctuate as games are played, until the RNS is released.

To be (invested) or not to be (invested) that is the question. I'm excited. Think we will see bid offer before deadline.

Wood has won a three-year contract to provide specialist technical support to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) - the country’s primary oil producer.

Under the contract, 65 of Wood’s engineering and project management specialists will form part of PDO’s front-end engineering design (FEED) office, delivering complex front-end energy transition and carbon capture projects for PDO.

The cohort will predominantly consist of Omani nationals, reinforcing Wood’s commitment to local talent development. The team will be complemented by Wood’s extensive network of global experts in delivering feasibility studies, pre-FEED and FEED solutions for all stages of the oil production value chain.

This reimbursable contract win comes at a time of sustained growth for Wood in the Middle East, with the company recently celebrating $920 million worth of contract awards in the region in 2024.

It does appear that Ken is trying to get the share suspended to remove the threat from Sidara...................for at least the imminent futures !! Tactics ???

A company with a 6.2 BILLION order book will always survive. If you go and read the RR BB 4-5 years ago, it was the exact same trolls playing the same old games. I'm not in this for pennies. This will rocket, with or without Sidara, but my gut instinct suspects bid is coming later this week !!
