For an Asian oil/gas to be interested in Guercif, the deposit must be sufficiently large, given the complexity of transporting gas over long distances. It's a bit like that Thai company that bought a field in Mozambique/Tanzania, even though the tax system and operating expenses (opex/capex) were less attractive than those of Guercif.
