1.6 TCF reserves (52 billions cubic meters).
30 TCF geologic world potential possible.
Using new data published by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the website Attaqa, specializing in global energy markets, ranked Algeria third in the world in terms of helium reserves on Thursday, with a volume that has reached 8.2 billion cubic meters, just behind the United States (20.6 billion cubic meters) and Qatar (10.1 billion cubic meters).
With this level of reserves, Algeria holds the largest share of helium reserves in Africa and the second largest in the Arab world. According to the same indicators, it surpasses global powers such as Russia, whose reserves are estimated at 6.8 billion cubic meters, Canada (2 billion cubic meters), and China (1.1 billion cubic meters).
At the regional level, the total helium reserves in Arab countries, including the combined reserves of Qatar and Algeria, reach 18.3 billion cubic meters, representing 36% of global reserves, estimated at nearly 52 billion cubic meters, and closely following the United States, with 40% of these reserves.
