/poleaxe/ The reason that this not similar to ex div because, everyone knows the amount of div long before the date. as normally on exd the sp fall by the same amount unless general or specific reason the price moves away; same any share on a given day.
When you get these option to buy; there are two entities to trade. the prices of both can be volatile even without other external factor. So you can win or loose depends on how you play; no one really know which is the best.
My problem is some nominee account will only allow you to sell buy won't let you buy the rights. Which I think poor.
JPM C was behind the TB; first lower the value of dark last year to later at lower price. I am glad it didn't work. I will hang on for a while for it to climb up towards previous high or trade small amount in between to recoup my losses.

The people you mentioned; ie the large shareholders, AML shares worth just a pocket change or a flutter for the fun of it. But the rest of 15% may be significant part of their portfolio. So simply says that these big players are in it doen't mean one way or other.
