On 23 December, the Government rejected Boliden's appeal of the Mayor's decision on the concession application for the Laver deposit. The decision means that a possible impact on Natura 2000 areas must be investigated early in the mining project and separately from the later environmental permit application. Boliden believes that the Natura2000 test should be carried out at the same time as the environmental permit application when knowledge of the planned mining operations is higher.

“The Laver deposit remains interesting even if the government's interpretation means that the project is postponed. Of course, we will do all the environmental investigations that are required, but we want to do them in the right order ", says CEO Mikael Staffas. "

Ibjj...I used to think that, they're afraid of putting a foot wrong which makes the process long drawn out...but now I think something much worse.

Don't know why that doesn't work, it works in another tab. Anyway, in a nutshell, Boliden has requested a judicial review of the Government's decision on the Laver deposit. Boliden thinks it's more sensible to to the Natura 2000 permit in conjunction with the environmental proceedings. You can read it on Placera but I know it doesn't translate for some of you.

Sorry...bad error, I meant of course the Swedish Democrats are in the frame now..it's the Social Democrats we're complaining about and their association with the MP.

The Government two previous elections ago, at the time we put our Application in the post (2006 to 2014) was the Liberal, Conservative, Moderate Party led by Fredrik Reinfeldt so any sort of constellation could happen. And, yes, I can't see this Government being elected again...the Social Democrats are in the frame now.

Why would they coast through the election when it took them months to form a Government last time?
