RE: Something interesting...14 Jan 2021 14:45
This is a cut and paste:
"According to the company, this is done "in light of the fact that the government's decision lacks clear support in Swedish legislation and that Natura2000 permit testing is best carried out later in the permit process".
On 23 December, the Government rejected Boliden's appeal of the Mayor's decision on the concession application for the Laver deposit. The decision means that a possible impact on Natura 2000 areas must be investigated early in the mining project and separately from the later environmental permit application. Boliden believes that the Natura2000 test should be carried out at the same time as the environmental permit application when knowledge of the planned mining operations is higher.
“The Laver deposit remains interesting even if the government's interpretation means that the project is postponed. Of course, we will do all the environmental investigations that are required, but we want to do them in the right order ", says CEO Mikael Staffas. "
