More than a little, an avalanche...here it is Topsp, Linda Modig's letter:
2020/21: 288 Sweden's conditions for a strong mining and mineral industry
In 2013, the then alliance government with Annie Lööf in charge Prime Minister presents the report Sweden's mineral strategy - For a sustainable use of Sweden's mineral resources that create growth throughout the country. The strategy aimed to strengthen and maintain Sweden's position as the EU's leading mining nation by increasing the competitiveness of the Swedish mining and mineral industry through 19 measures in eleven areas of action within five strategic areas. Since then, Sweden's attractiveness as a leading mining nation has declined. Sweden has lost the absolute top position on the Fraser Institute's Policy Perception Index in favor of one of Sweden's most important competitor countries, namely Finland, and investments in exploration activities in Sweden continues to be at low levels. The Riksdag's Constitution Committee has recently (ref. 20/21: KU10) among other things criticized the government for unacceptable delay in the processing of the application for a processing concession for Kallak. No new mine on virgin land has been started in Sweden since the then Northland Resources mine in Kaunisvaara in almost 13 years. The current situation can be explained by various reasons. The overall however, the picture should also worry the government. In view of this, I would like to ask Minister of Trade and Industry Ibrahim Baylan: Does the Minister intend to work for the government to re - establish Sweden's position as The EU's leading mining and mineral nation and, if so, what measures are needed the Prime Minister to take?
