According to Demoskop the Greens are polling 3.5%...Novus give them 4.3%. The Liberals are unlikely to gain any seats on their current performance and they 'gave' 5.5% last time...so not looking good for the Government. Linda Modig has said she doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at the Government's handling of Kallak...will her Party support the Alliance next time, I wonder.

At the time of the last election Opinion Poll Organisations Demoskop and Novus gave the Social Democrats a lead of 9.3% and 11.8% respectively...yesterday they reported leads of 1.3% and 3.5% for the Month of May. Remember they had trouble forming a Government with the lead they had last time.

As Wots has pointed out already, an RNS is public. The Swedish Press seem reluctant ever to make negative comments about the Government, but The Opposition Parties I feel confident will take it up.

The Government must give a decision.

Morning. Don't you think he's just towing the party line, Aug...for the PM? That's what I think, he's perfectly secure in the knowledge that he's doing exactly what's required of him...nothing. And there's three years evidence that that's the plan.

I don't think the uranium mining company received any compensation...they lost their appeal against the decision to abandon uranium mining and I doubt they got any compensation, I'd like to be corrected about that but I can't find any information. As a Mining Nation Sweden has no credibility left with this current Government.

The Atvidaberg licence is interesting...its on the historic copper fields of Atvidaberg and Bersbo...first heard about it when the previous Minister Damberg gave a speech at a converence, similiar to Minister Baylan's speech when he welcomed investors to do business in Sweden. Mr Damberg said he believed these historic mines had enormous potential with new mining techniques...can't imagine people were queuing up for the privilege but we took a licence. Now remember when Mr Damberg announced that he'd looked at the boundary of the Laponia and he asserted that the law was enough, he was absolutely clear about it. He also said mines are where they are and reindeer have legs (possibly I've made up the legs bit but it was implied anyway). And he said that mining and herding can coexist and there were successful examples of it...nowhere has a cooperative closed down because of mining.

Very good idea Extracover46...it's pretty sinister when you think about it UNESCO thinking themselves guardians, judge and jury on OUVs, it's totalitarian. There's an article about the Dresden Bridge project somewhere describing their preoccupation with the past and that's good to nobody. Baroque palaces or a useful bridge? I think the bridge actually improves the Baroque Palaces ..a link between the past and the future but more of the future.

Maybe not that long Maddog...new Government next September, can't see this lot getting back in...and the Mining Industry is high on the list of election topics for the Moderates. But that's worst case ...things might be better than they seem just at the moment, there's a lot at stake for the whole of Norbotten.
