Wily, its all conjecture, or sensemaking, given the knowledge we have. I have no more info than what has been published...i doubt anybody here does.

Sidara have a vested interest in keeping a lid on the sp, and accumulating shares. Wouldnt surprise me if they hired marshall wace and other shorters to pursue their bid and minimise their cost

The more shares sidara can buy at low, shorted prices, the more they can offer for the remaining shares. Who is selling?

Hmmm....i am not convinced the rules are enforced. Form 8.5 also intimates that dealings can take place but seems connection needs to be declared

Sell off? Opportunity to buy...who knows what monday will being after a weekend of undoubted long hours and hard work by the respective analysts/advisors etc

Rest tonight, assured that tomorrows light will herald an interesting day for those of us that grope in the darkness trying to 'make sense' of that which we have surface knowledge.

I dont have a clue on the offer, but i assume if sidara wants the company the price needs to be acceptable to buyer and seller...thats is obvious, and sidara and wood group know it. Lets see what happens. We dont have insight into the value of the synergies, nor into the 'souls' of men and women. I assume they are not wasting their own, and the others, time and money.

I hope the deal goes through. If not i hope we get a management that the staff and investors will have confidence in to deliver. The current BOD seem to have failed, as does the finance, accounting and costing functions...these 'issues' predate the recent cfo... And may be consequence of the distribution/concentration and institutionalization of organizational power.

Isle, I believe Marshall Wace will be collaborating with other interested parties (including the agents representing Sidara). If I remember rightly from my last research into trying to fathom Marshal Wace I ended up with the Eton Oxbridge Clique and sophisticated computer systems and algorithms...perhaps its a fantasy...

What I thought interesting is that most of the institutions have been confirming their holdings rather than selling out, or, for that matter, buying more. I think, somebody is buying. It would also make sense for Sidara to buy if they (or their agents) thought they can make a successful high offer to secure Wood...
