Remember some asian markets (Shanghai, hk etc) were closed on friday, and are playing 'catch up', Aus is down by just over 4%...so the impact is continuing. But china japan and south korea in talks to work closer together. Same is happening with Canada and uk/EU....interesting times

While trumps tariffs are having a devastating effect, if Sidara want WG they have no better time to make the offer at their low point, which they think WG II's may accept. Whilst the markets are in turmoil, I feel there can be no better share to be in than the Wood Group in a bid situation by a clearly interested longing suitor.

We speculate. We know Sidara are still at table, II's have not exited, financing talks are ongoing, deloittes recommendations are out and being acted upon, other changes have already occurred...anything i have missed?

Crowman, genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. Tbh though, i am nor surprised that some of the project units financial controls have been surfaced...i might be wrong but i think in professional bureaucracies where the professionals dominate the power structures, 'creative accounting' that serves the needs of the 'dominant coalition' is not from outer space...

Anybody think Sidara and some of the corporate shorters might have a mutually beneficial relationship? Would that be illegal? Would it be investigated and relatively easy to uncover? Funny business/funny world

Sidara will have an idea of the impact on account adjustment highlighted by deloittes, thats assuming deloitte and kpmg have some sort of assessment. Its a 'limited number' of projects, and we dont know how large these 'limited number' are. Although the company intimated no material impact...i suppose given accounts are historical, the material impact has already occurred. I wonder if gilmartin knows there wont be adverse impact on the past borrowing criteria

In the meantime a good opportunity to buy in/average down if you have spare cash...i sold my rio and eee before the crash to buy wg, adding to shares i held from the feb crash...my average is 32. I think it more likely that wg will increase more than rio in the next month or two...

Sidara would be privy to all the news before announced. They havent walked, nor been told to walk...lets hope a mutually acceptable deal emerges...

Fair price vs fair value are two different propositions. A fair price may be deemed to be one that satisfies the buyer and seller , that price may not reflect notions of fair value, since value can depend on utility. Anyway notions of fairness are problematic.

No point in our attempts at predicting whether any offer will be deemed acceptable. All we can say is Sidara are in continuing talks, and we dont think WG II's would accept a low ball offer based around current SP...but what would they accept...sidara must have some notion of this to even come to the table, and be entertained...

Thanks to all that have provided information, critically evaluative but reasoned and balanced commentary. I know differences exist, but by most accounts the rewards outweigh the risks. The relationship Banks around wood are not to be discounted if there relationship model is worth the paper it is written on.
