"Last week, a heat wave spurred Greenland’s biggest melting event of the 2021 season so far. The Polar Portal, run by Danish research institutions, stated that enough water melted to cover all of Florida with two inches of water.
Well, Florida averages around 45 inches of rainfall so they probably wouldn't notice another couple of inches anyway.
It is amazing to me how randomly used statistics can be used for dramatic effect with little or no context applied. I am not a climate change denier but I also don't believe in the hysterical media coverage or agree with our pathetic politicians jumping on the bandwagon with their 4-5 year "next election" horizons.
The idea that the human race is about to become extinct due to human created global warming is utter bs but unfortunately the powers that be, ably supported by their cheerleaders in the media have brainwashed our young people into a cult like trance and a dogmatic, myopic view of the world so thinking that any politically connected organisation (which I see the Arbitration panel as being in some way) is going to make a huge award to an oil company is fanciful.
I will be amazed if we ever get a penny. Our only hope is Harbour and the FI Govt just get quietly on with Sea Lion next year.
