Reading the Companies statement issued today under their title "Outlook" they say "the trading momentum seen year to date provides the Board with confidence that, adjusting for the impact of CMBC, performance will be in line with market expectations."

So they are saying reading between the lines, even with the sale of CMBC, if the performance is in line based on reduced debt and increased sales the sale of the 40% CMBC is in fact a win/win situation for the Marston Company. Let's be honest last time around the pubs profits needed to pay the brewery for rebranding/ marketing of some products as a one off charge, and so this cost will also be gone in future! GLA. Bank rates to come down soon too which will help any future restructuring I am sure, where Marston will also be one of the FTSE's beneficiaries.

Company is also looking at creating shareholder value by further reductions in debt and as Sales continue to grow with prop.values increasing from the pubs now making profits (rather than when they were devalued during the pandemic) the future for this Company is looking much now like the accountants NPV share price last notified at 94p which will bring in fund managers looking for a more secure investment, where the company assets are worth more than the MKT price. GLA. No one takes notice of the failing doomsters as the share price continues to rise. Now up over 36% in 3 months!

Wolf I have a feeling long term share-holders such as myself will be waiting for a price move a lot higher than 40p.

Starting to look very positive for a sustained recovery.

Just looking at my charts and I can see the share price was 87p on 1st Sept 2021, and 130p even on 5th December 2019 -just looking at the past 3 years. So we have here tremendous upside potential.

So I will be hanging around in this one as I can see tremendous opportunity (as will many others) if the sales figs are as expected to be greatly enhanced as customers return post pandemic we could jump up.

Yes Constantine Bay -quite a few positive things here for now and the future.

Marstons is a very good call for at home in the Uk sales.

I also have my misses invested in Whitbread too, as they have a large presence in Germany for the German sales.

Going forward there are also at lot of events this year and into the next year as the entertainment shares come back! Good luck.

I would certainly welcome a new Sales statement from new management.

This might bring in the Corporate Fund and Investment Managers and pension investors rather than the small value day traders. In view of the last CEO statement where he mentioned a good run by England in the Euros was good for sales. The last update I have printed off in front of me was for the 52 weeks to 30th September dated 11th October where they announced continuing sales increases of 11.30% for the Groups Managed and Franchised Pubs only where sales for the year both Food and Drink sales had been strong in the pubs.

Appears most commercial Pubs have geared up for sporting events now. Lots to look forward to with the large screens already in place at a large number of Marston pubs.

What would be good now would be to have some up to date sales figures, which have been coming back year on year post pandemic quite strongly.

Remember Marston now also will benefit from the start of the home Football season too. The management will realise that they did not have to sell the brewery to Carlsberg as the pubs are now producing enough profit to pay down the debt but with the sale have speed the process up by some margin. For those who doubted England they are now in the Euro 24 final and lasted the whole competition. Should be good for sales figures where the CEO had previously reported a strong performance was very good for the Company Pub sales figures! GLA.

Yes and I see only 634.16m shares issued per my broker! No wonder the accountants have an NPV per last statement in the 90p's . Been trading below this figure for far too long! imho.

Example RNS issued 15/3/24 Marston's PLC - Wolverhampton, England-based operator of around 1,400 pubs - Chief Executive Officer Justin Platt buys 347,886 shares at 28.60 pence, worth GBP99,495, on Thursday.

Current stock price: 28.65 pence

If it helps Justin Platt bought 347,886 shares which cost him £99.495.40 on 14/4/24 at 28.60p

Rachel Osborne bought 78,890 shares worth £24,870.70 on 31/1/24 at 31.53p. Within their contracts of employment they will also acquire free shares no doubt reflected on performance (like any other company).

In a statement of 11th October 2023 for the previous 52 weeks to 30th September 2023 Total Retail sales in the Groups Managed and Franchised pubs were up plus 11.30%. they refer to a portfolio of well invested pubs which will continue to deliver high-quality earnings and sustainable growth.

With sales now approaching £1billion from the Pubs and with the debts below this figure the Company can now move on. The Company have said the distribution agreements remain in place but they just don't own the brewery anymore choosing to reduce their debts short term instead from the sale and concentrate on the Pubs.

The Management are happy with this arrangement as they do not need to sell the brewery but want to concentrate on the Hospitability entertainment side whilst reducing debts in one hit! For those non shareholders they can say what they like as it does not affect them, but previously all they commented on was the debt which has suddenly reduced to below sales figures.

Shareholders still need to vote on the deal but I will be surprised if we do not now see record sales figures coming through for the pubs, which will be one reason for the acceptance by the board. Good luck Marston you are coming out with a streamlined model to concentrate on one area of growth Hospitality. Whilst the Brewery has done well enough for Carlsberg to buy out the whole thing. Perhaps other options now exist for Marston pubs where other companies will be seeing a simplified structure that could lead to another takeover or merger even? Stone gate ? Whitbread ? possibly?

They are not far off £1billion in sales from the 1300 odd plus pubs and the last property audit was during covid when the prop.values were at a low. I would suggest now the Company is making profits from the pubs alone if anything they are now open more for another take over, but property values will have increased too.

The last accounts showed Marson contributing to the brewery to be honest and the income was less than the potential savings. The Company on this theme say the agreement gives them a clear path going forward. The new management seem to be getting things underway quicker than I had expected. New sales figs should be interesting too. The market sentiment appears to have benefitted from the statements issued. GLA.

We know the accountants have valued this share before at 90p plus pence and is has been trading for a third of that price due to poor sentiment based on dbt. I therefore presume the accountants have been asked for their approval and if this has been given what they suggest the value is now with reduced debt?

I can see based on this value offers coming in for the pubs now too as Marston wanted to achieve £1billion in sales against less than £1billion in debt (which they now appear to have met). Interesting if we can now recover backup to more of the firms accountants value of the share price NPV.

Offer coming in must indicate Carlsberg being very happy with the Carlsberg Marston brewery, and this streamlines the Marston business model who must also have seen benefits.

I always said that Marston would benefit from having a cash rich partner and for Carlsberg they will benefit long term from this and the purchase of Britvic. Whilst it would appear the supply agreements remain in place where Marston can still benefit from the Carlsberg Britvic buy out (Perhaps Marston shareholders should ask for a little but more money from a cash rich Partner), however longer term as Mary said we are now open to other offers with reduced debt and streamlined business model. Non shareholders need not comment as this is for shareholders to decide but I can see the market at the moment raises a glass! Not a surprise the Non shareholders are keen to come on here and provide their usual codwash perhaps they will be caught short? However the board is more interesting today.

One thing they are wanting to do is to make it easier to develop properties by helping reduce planning restrictions, and as we know Marston want to sell specific locations that they consider to be worth selling. What the new Chairman brings is experience in the development field, as well as helping companies whose share price does not reflect its true value recover.

I can see one beneficiary of the Labour win today has been the House Builders/Developers.

Dear Rev, I think you may find his role is Chairman advising / overseeing/ with LSE reporting, but is not full time being Non-Exec. in status. This is not unusual for someone who holds more than one senior office. His other Companies such as Cirata (provide where he is also Non Exec chair) data analysis and trends with business partners such as Allianz, Apple, Daimler, Go Daddy, Juniper, Manulife, Nat West. He is Deputy Chair at "Rainier" a Property and Land development company "We identify and maximise new strategic land and urban development opportunities." Finally at Rockwood he is a Senior Independent Director who funnily enough identify "undervalued shares" where potential exists to improve returns, or where changes by operational strategic, or Management changes will unlock create or realise shareholder value to investors. I hope this therefore helps you understand more of some of the reasoning the Company would have made? The future will be very interesting with his support and experience and I would suggest from now on hopefully the share price will start reflecting the accountants valuation of Marston which is certainly in the 90p's. Hi WW, could be they were aware of the new Chairman and had a conflict? But yes not good business for them, especially when the new Chairman elect says "to deliver sustainable growth that will drive value for our shareholders" it might have be worth them hanging on for the next sales figs, which will be up on last time around, especially due to the majors sports events coming up and taking place and Q2 is always better than Q1. Football season to restart soon too and then we have the Paris Olympics after the euros (it might not matter that much if England do well or not) but it will raise sentiment if we do.

Yes WW. Barchildren and UnFairtrader only hunt in pairs to bully the price down but I like the fact they care so much for the Company where they do not even hold one share between them!! New Chairman announced today who had run some large Companies before (including some in the London market) and will no doubt use his data experience to nail down the way forward and streamline economies of scale (if we are not taken over beforehand that is ). I notice B/T and Unfair T did not apply then?

Whereas Carlsberg have been a partner of Liverpool FC for sometime now, they have also signed up with Aston Villa to have "pouring rights at "Villa Park". Now there will be a captive audience for the whole season introducing some international games too.

Someone at the brewer has a great vision for expansion as I have said before , and perhaps far more punters will be attending Football matches throughout the season than even their own pubs! Keep it going!
