Fed to consider latest data on jobs, payrolls, needing support, inflation down heavily in europe, recession fears, Chinese market being boosted with central rate cuts, war in Middle East heating up.

Precious Commodities likely to rise. I did not see nay reason apart from profit taking for Hochschild fall Friday.

It will be interesting to see now if Aberforth buy any more Marstons as they will soon have to notify of their intentions due to their percentage now owned in the Company.

I am not surprised this share has turned for the better which is long overdue. Perhaps what we need is more than one investment fund having the same intentions, as Aberforth say they are interested in investing in Companies selling at levels below their intrinsic value. This we have mentioned recently before with the NPV over 90p yet trading at only 42p. GLA.

I printed off the largest investors in Marston in April 2024, and Aberforth had only an ownership of 3% of the total number of shares that are issued, they now have over 11%!

I'm not saying anything is related to the forthcoming announcement but it is worth mentioning the shareholder ownership for them has increased substantially. dyor, and gla.

Recent stock market announcements for Marston are Aberforth is raising its stake for over 11.01%, and we have a trading announcement coming on 9th October 2024.

Or the fact that everyone expects World Banks from USA and China to reduce rates further. Uk on consumer confidence fall also more likely to cut soon. Marston to benefit after Directors statements loans now reduced in advance and will nbe further re-engineered to shareholders benefit. With NPV of over 90p plus with sales and profits up we can expect divis now soon for long suffering shareholders and life funds. The tide is turning for this share, plus lots of big buying is going on now. 100,000 start early doors! GLA.

With the NPV of 90 plus P we are still at a 50p discount on the auditors NPV. With rates coming down debt reduced and sales up we should expect to see some movement back up towards NPV levels.

With a merger or takeover now possible on a streamlined operation this share is one to keep a very close eye on.

I agree marvellous value when looking at the accountants valuation which is likely in time to improve further with lower interest rates, less debt provision and greater sales (particularly this year when Marston have already said sales are up).

However just think Allcam like with a property that has a lodger in the case of the brewery Marston had a minority share and as the majority shareholder was already Carlsberg the valuation would have been lower due to the shared ownership. The time value of money a cash payment in advance to enable Marston to lower debt and future interest payments was also worth more to them, they said as much if you read the company web site releases. The company accountants would have approved the deal for the sale, which if at a loss could be used to reduce the company tax and especially "capital gains tax" would have been due on any property sale profit. Marston have raised its profile recently and what the Company has done is to bring the corporate plan forward by 2 years ahead of schedule.

If you look at what assets belong to shareholders fund you can see how the NPV is worked out. We should start to return to a share price over 90p in time, which is what shareholders would get even if the Company failed (minus costs) so this Share to me looks a very good investment. You say you are up 40% well there should be a lot more growth in the price very soon. This year has been a better year for sales already and with the reduced debt the sentiment will be further improved. We should not have long to wait which is why the share price is starting to come back as you have seen. If we have an approach which is now more likely then the share price will rocket overnight as it has done before. If you have any doubt spread the risk but certainly the sector appears to be coming back. GLA.DYOR.

Brewery made a Loss vrs Marston pubs made a profit to support the Brewery Partnership by diverting profits from the pubs towards the breweries rebranding and this is why Marston pubs made a on paper loss last year. However the time value of money for the brewery is worth more to Marston in reducing debt which is the main reason people criticised the company in the past. The Company plan to reduce debt to less than sales has come 2 yrs early for them and the road gets even better with rates reducing and sale increasing. The had to sell the brewery to enable Carlsberg to be able to buy Britvic. However Marston will also benefit as the contract with Carlsberg remains for supply, just that they do not now own their 40% share of the brewery. If you read the business reports the brewery actually made a loss in the last final year, whereas Marston on the pub side made increasing profits. Not such a bad move therefore all things considered. Sales figures should come soon as the year end for Marston is 8 days away. Time to top up in my mind as the number of shares issued is low and the Net present value is high, was over 90p! Great time to buy as Wolf says the share is showing even more value of late, but is still recovering on the year.

Up17% on the year but still down 55% on 3 years (because of the pandemic) this will come back strong, even quicker now the Central banks are starting to cut loan rates. People will be better off, and prop.values will rise (including pubs).

We also would like to hear from the Management regarding the latest sales figures and when they come we should expect a big jump in the share price. GLA DYOR.

The shareholder funds equal 639.80 million and the net tangible value per share is 92.41p. (as at Sept 23).

So this share is trading far below its actual accountants value on sentiment which has been low since the pandemic, as I say sooner or later a large fund manager will see this as its a no brainer to buy the company as it is at a bargain price!

If anyone is wondering the reason why the Company has a Net Present Value of approx 97p and that it is therefore a bargain at the price, is due to the limited number of shares actually released and in circulation.

The Company has seen no reason to release more shares to the public and therefore we can see the Company is not in need of extra share capital as its trading is in profit.

Sooner or later active financial institutions or a competitor will see this and the share price will be corrected.

For the unfairtraders of this world. The only amount owed is to the shareholders (I being one of them) and is approx. 97p per share based on the accountants NPV for this share, certainly over 90p. So that is all I am owed.

For the Company is now making growing profits on increased sales (where they were even last time around making contributions to the brewery as one off payments for re-branding, etc) shareholders will soon enjoy a position to accept dividends, where business loans are now at a sufficient low level to be re-engineered for the benefit of shareholders who have supported the Company through and from a global pandemic. Suggest Unfairtrader directs his comments to the board if he is serious about buying shares, if not look elsewhere if he is unhappy. As for those with a vested interest -Not long to go for takeoff here as Marston like many UK Comps look great value and are liable to have an approach soon where such a discount appears to the NPV!

Coming soon. Lower rates which will be a major benefit to Marston, as their senior Management have reported it gives them a chance to total re-engineer their loans for the longer term benefit of shareholders. However they have already now significantly reduced the total loans to be less than total sales figures.

It will be interesting to see the latest figures where we have this year at a sustained period of warmer weather and where at the start of summer we had an enjoyable Euro 24 tournament that took up the slack from a wet spring and so the comparisons over past years will be very encouraging.

USD looked upon as the World Currency will help other central banks including our own review data to support cheaper loans and lower rates to encourage growth. Will help Companies with loans such as Marston longer term.

Aviation manufacturers, product makers and Banking and Insurers all relate to the USD in the Aviation market. I see this move today only as a result of a cheaper dollar.

However remember it also will make sales cheaper too, which are always in great demand hence the order book.

I read that the issue with the engines was a fuel jet issue, which to be honest was not even probably manufactured by RR anyway. They have many partners in the World, but apart from Engine manufacturing their mainstay is servicing and maintaining aircraft at their service centres all around the World and not just their own engines either. This share will

come back very soon as income is still rising despite the falling dollar. GLA.

The slowing US economy is now showing the lowest number of Job openings since 2021. Lower rates coming very soon. Canada have now reduced theirs today and so we can expect most developed World Economies to follow suit.

Past smoking ban inside Uk pubs have not stopped recent trade to Marstons pubs, and will encourage families who better enjoy eating in a clean air environment which is where they have been expanding the award winning menus.

Giving up smoking is a good idea and will leave "working man" with more money in his pocket however it might result in more beer drinking as an alternative I suppose. As the mind of those who do with turn to another addiction.

Labour are more likely to tax air fares and business trips for executives which might lead to more staying in the Uk in future for Holidays or work meetings or breakfast clubs and Rotary club meetings which have always been a mainstay of local community pubs.
