If the Oil price has fueled inflation then the falls today can only help reduce it. I could see Brent was down between 4-5% today alone, and Heating Oil is nearly at a year time low.

This could provide Marston with reduced rates and lower costs to run the business, as well as providing customers with spare cash that they can also have with giving up smoking!! Not long to wait for the next bank meetings! GLA.

accountants have a share npv off (90 plus p per share based on prop.values) taken at the start of the pandemic-so this company is worth more just by shutting down and selling!

if the company stopped trading they say our shares based on the equity is worth over 90p. so maybe beer korma is doing us a favour? haha.

the other thing a sensible old working man will do this winter is to go for his winter warmer, or rather pedigree or whiskey and ginger and whilst he is out turn his central heating down and make use of a warm pub.

as marston have local community pubs he could have his *** on the way, but will not soon get free bus and rail travel into the towns, so marston competitors might be worse off than them anyway-who knows.

Shares look a bargain now at this price. I worked in the Aviation Market for 37 years and RR and the No1 without question. It is very rare for them to have any sort of failure. It is more likely to have been caused by an outside influence.i.e. Bird ingestion, or even a faulty maintenance attendant. It will not take long for them to discover what happened as at least everyone and everything is in one piece. RR will carry products insurance for any product liability cover should it be deemed necessary but I doubt it will be.

Which means of the 5 million the majority do have jobs. Give them time, maybe they are learning English?

Plenty or low paid work in the Uk where many so called working age people resident in the Uk already feel certain jobs are beneath them. Migrants are often found to be harder working and willing to learn for a better life.

However many migrants are here for a reason and not out of choice, and so will work hard and produce more for less pay than many so called Westerners who have been spoilt. Think Dave we all have a place on earth and can produce and maybe you might need to rethink. I am and have always been someone who gives everyone a chance, do not listen to other people and make my own mind up, even when others have already decided by listening to others.

Equals more money in ones pocket, more to spend on going out, more pension money from higher wages and for those on higher wages to be able to put more into their pension schemes tax free to help retire early.

=Higher property values, growing economy, more going out. Suggest families to try staying in the Uk for hols, and trying a Marston pub, rather than spending abroad and jumping on a high polluting plane to save the environment. Stay at home, and in a Pub to save the World!

I do not feel this will have any impact at all, or will likely increase the already growing family restaurant trade in the Marston pubs, all of which I have seen and visited to be very pleasant places to be. Most families prefer going out today with their young'uns to a smoke free pub, although in winter most also like being close to a wood burner. Marston based their business on local community pubs and enjoy looking after the family experience. So the smoking beer drinking brigade are more likely going to go to the railway tavern type of pub rather than refurbished Marston's venues. Perhaps the insurance on the business will be cheaper too with less fire risk? Most smokers can still sit in their car I presume as it is charging up on a newly installed charging point at a Marston pub near you. Perhaps this also gives them another advantage of their peers. Unfair trader does not understand today's social etiquette do they. Most people prefer eating and drinking today in a smokeless environment, so in fact more punters will enjoy the experience at Marstons pubs -not less. Again he misses the point which is the only misses he should be concerned about. My misses sold her Whitbread a little while ago at profit so to balance our portfolios I bought some before the Euro 24 Football Tournament in Germany, where Whitbread happen to be expanding rapidly. A bit unlike the money he is losing every day from his fossil fuel drilling companies he has invested in, and unlike granny hoarding cash at home until it was old currency, and then wondering if he could cash it in at the post office when it is too late.

Glad to see Unfair trader you also got it wrong on Whitbread. You really have no idea at all do you. Just like my RR shares which if you had bought you would have made a 5 fold increase.

Perhaps you should look at Marston from a property owner point of view which values are rising once again and will rise even more now interest rates are coming down even more soon. The value of this company is rising on prop. values as well as sales and reduced debt. GLA.

Very good for Sales! Even Carlsberg have said on Bloomberg they are uplifting their forecasts for the year.

Rev-have faith! It looks like the American market do!! In fact a survey of all the top US banks said they would rather invest in the FTSE Companies than anywhere else in Europe.

This share has risen 37.19% for the year which is quite respectable, and still has a 65% gain to bring it back to levels of 3 years ago. We expect the Fed to reduce rates and can expect more cuts as inflation returns to lower levels Marston have said they will be able to re-engineer the problems of the past with greater flexibility from recent movements.

Yes a good report. No doubt fueling some very strong buying after the U/C trade from over the pond.

One large one in particular. Price is continuing to lift now with still quite a margin to recover to pre-pandemic levels.

So still an opportunity for newcomers to this share.

Debt is reducing due to the sale of the CM Brewery share, plus earnings due up to the sale date. Sales from the pubs alone is "up"! already based on the Euro 24 and Olympics spectator events, plus the extended warm weather for the Uk is helping, and the Football season has now started.

Whilst sales are expected to now be in excess of debt, do not forget the sale of non core assets is still going ahead this year to reduce debt further. Marston already said they can soon reallocate any debt when the lower interest rates start further unwinding, and lets not forget with lower interest rates property values increase further too. The future looks very bright now and Shore Capital and others may have missed the boat and one of two other positive aspects long termers are aware of. We should start to return to values held two or three years ago (pre-pandemic) soon. GLA/DYOR

Tuesday on Bloomberg Carlsberg announced an uplift in sales and expected profits for this year based on recent sales figures from the brewery. (Which shows increased orders/ consumption from their clients).

Whilst this shows a strong summer I hope we also will be getting a pro-rata share for our time up until our brewery share was sold recently aswell.

Encouraged by the Hot weather we have been having for the past few weeks now. Understand the pubs have been doing well!

Also todays govt. stats look like a rate decrease might be on the cards again soon, as well as pressure on the Fed to start reducing soon will help the longer term outlook disclosed "Gee Money"). GLA.

Yes I am also in for a longer run on this one, and have not sold any ,and have bought as the price went down. Two of my allocations are in solid profit and two are not, but I can wait for a long time yet, as I suspect something else is likely to happen. i.e. Stonegate have an equal number of premises as Marston, and are also customers of the Carlsberg Brewing on a contract basis, and to me it makes sense for a slimmed down Marston to work on further economies of scale with another partner. So suspect a merger taking place, if not a take over. Merger with Stone gate -or takeover by someone like Whitbread? Lots of opportunities where lower rates come into play.

The B.O.E. has now moved to start lowering rates which is what we all wanted.

Marston in time as the Board have said can restructure the whole Loan book with what is hoped to be increased sales against significantly reduced loans.

The bottom line will ten respond as will the share price where we hope to return to pre-covid levels. Sales are already there it seems. GLA, more good news to keep momentum!

Hopefully the B.O.E. will give the govt a break and cut rates and we can see real benefits here again tomorrow. We do appear to be a "supercharging" share at the moment.

The board believe value is attractive to Marston shareholders with Group interest expense to reduce by c£18 million per year. Overall earnings accretive.
