Scoping Report:
Scoping Phase:
The purpose of the scoping phase is essentially to determine the scope of the EIA phase. The emphasis during scoping is to review alternatives, identify environmental issues and potential environmental impacts. The scoping process culminates in the compilation of a scoping report, which includes a description of the environmental issues, potential environmental impacts, potential alternatives and a detailed plan of study for the EIA phase. A draft version of the scoping report is made available for review and comment by all stakeholders and relevant authorities. The final scoping report is then lodged with the DEA for consideration.
