Er - no, I'm not leaving! I have held for years. Best I am more specific in regard to whom I am particularly addressing: Goodbye, Doug666; goodbye, Weetsie; goodbye, party costa. 'Bye. Ahhh. That wonderful clean air appeared immediately they were banished. Try it.
Thanks Ugg and Ians, I don't check in here everyday so didn't read back before posting below. Interesting that only you two guys responded. Anybody else out there? Thanks in advance.
Has anyone transacted DOR stock on-line via Interactive yet? If so, how do you rate their service and charges? How about other broker services? Just asking for feedback because I am considering opening an account to possibly buy in here and my Barclays service does not offer ASX on-line. Thank you.
cont. The two uncertificated sub-registers of CDIs combined will make up the register of beneficial title of the Shares underlying the CDIs. How is local and international trading in CDIs affected? CDI holders who wish to trade their CDIs will be transferring the beneficial interest in the Shares rather than the legal title. The transfer will be settled electronically by delivery of the relevant CDI holdings through CHESS. In other respects, trading in CDIs is essentially the same as trading in other CHESS approved securities, such as shares in an Australian company.
?? So no replies it seems Oggy. Looks like we are all as uninformed as each other. Here's some published info on definitions, etc but not sure if it directly answers our queries: The Company is incorporated under the legal jurisdiction of England and Wales. To enable companies such as the Company to have their securities cleared and settled electronically on the ASX, Depositary Instruments called CDIs are issued. Each CDI represents one underlying Share. The main difference between holding CDIs and Shares is that CDI holders hold the beneficial ownership in the Shares instead of legal title. CHESS Depositary Nominees Pty Limited (CDN), a subsidiary of ASX, will hold the legal title to the underlying Shares. Pursuant to the ASX Settlement Operating Rules, CDI holders receive all of the economic benefits of actual ownership of the underlying Shares. CDIs are traded in a manner similar to shares of Australian companies listed on ASX. CDIs will be held in uncertificated form and settled/transferred through CHESS. No share certificates will be issued to CDI holders. Shareholders cannot trade their Shares on ASX without first converting their Shares into CDIs. The Shares underlying the CDIs will be registered in the name of CDN and will be held on behalf of and for the benefit of the CDI holder. CDN will receive no fees for acting as the depositary for the CDIs. CDIs will be CHESS-approved from the date of Official Quotation in accordance with the ASX Listing Rules and the ASX Settlement Operating Rules. Shares underlying the CDIs will rank equally with the Shares that the Company has previously issued. What registers will be maintained recordings your interests? The Company operates a principal Share register in the UK, which comprises both holders in certificated form and uncertificated form (that is through CREST), and an uncertificated issuer sponsored sub-register of CDIs and an uncertificated CHESS sub-register of CDIs in Australia. The Companys uncertificated issuer sponsored sub-register of CDIs and uncertificated CHESS sub-register of CDIs will be maintained by the Companys Share Registrar. The branch register is the register of the legal title (and will reflect legal ownership by CDN of the Shares underlying the CDIs with the Shares held by CDN recorded on the branch register of Shares in Australia). Rest to follow
I have very limited experience in trading from one exchange to another as well as internationally and wanted to ask anyone with knowledge what CDIs are and if they are tradeable via normal channels, for example, Barclays Stockbrokers, HL, etc and what costs are associated with the conversions and whethyer it is a smooth and immediate process involved in trading via these 'CDI's on the ASX. Thank you.
Very kind. Thanks, peeps (Wander, Escovido, Calm Seas and MTFW). I may have have misread the stuff from BARC. Looks like they are only withdrawing form SIPP, then. I will read it again. I was thinking about a top-up tomorrow. This makes it much more likely.
Hello fellow investors. I need some feedback, please. My DOR shares are with an Investment Account and an ISA Account with Barclays Stockbrokers. They have advised via their new set-up that they are no longer offering even their telephone trading facility for DOR. So I need to transfer to a new provider (without necessarily transferring my whole portfolio). Could anybody here recommend a trusty broker and advise what will be involved/time period? Would be appreciated. Thanks.
