So, let's assume that this single core is like a 'HAD005'25 Sep 2025 22:53
For those few seasoned WA mining investors here who don't know, HAD005 was the core that convinced Callum Baxter and the Greatland team they'd found a fair bit of gold, such were some of the grades they were getting back from the labs and the clear and obvious visible signs in the cores.
They then, with their substantial backing from NCM, drilled the hell out of it, proving it up over the next 4 years in the sure and certain knowledge that, if it was the c20m oz tier 1 it has proved to be, then NCM would (as they did) build a huge decline to get to the enormous deposit that, they believed, would prolong Telfer's life.
Lots has changed in the Paterson since those days:
Greatland now own Telfer
Greatland has proved there are several lifetimes left in the old dog Telfer, drilling into some grades there (that would give the BOD as WSBN boners) that they have permission to mine now.
So much in fact, that with the current POG they can probably fund the entire CapEx of Havieron, at their own pace, from sales.
So, here's a few points:
Assuming Al Bondigas is not blowing things out of his other mouthpiece, and this single core may have indeed struck a seam or other mafic gold resource -
A) 0000ms more infill drilling will be required
B) Where's the money coming from for that?
C) So, let's assume in 3-4 years' time it does prove itself a genuine orebody, how is it going to be mined? Will WSBN hope a major backs them earlier at drilling stage as well as now at pre-mine?
Can't see that happening. Can't see a Major fronting up CapEx for a new mine unless orebody is low cover - which it is isn't. Especially when, as WSBN BOD keep reminding us Telfer is just down the road.
So what?
So that just leaves GGP. Who are busy making about £12-15m/week from the ever youthful, ever expanding Telfer with Hav's super high grade ore due to come on stream in 2027.
Even if we have got something why would they help us? They don't need us. But, if they did, everything would be on their (frightening terms. Right now Redsetter could be 3x size of Havieron and still no one might not touch us because of and including GGP.
Maybe a 5-7year play (before end of current gold bull run) where GGP sell out having bought out Redsetter as the next Havieron to develop, with a still profitable Telfer filling one of the milling trains there and Havieron the other?
