From my reckoning, around 8 million shares got offloaded after the 12th July RNS,
According to a friend of telephoneman on the PHE board the lack of sp movement mght be due to change in rules;
"The margin trading rules for professional traders are changing at many spread betting companies
Where open positions were once covered by share holdings they now can not be and the traders have to have £300k cash now to cover open leveraged positions"
Thanks telephoneman!
So many have had to sell positions in shares held as collateral and when those shares are illiquid they can fall a lot
Hi comet-1 I was thinking that, until I read the first statement again, which to my mind means the offer comes before the 'brief engineering study'. From a business point of view it means that AFC get paid up front before they expend money on the study.
Perhaps AFC have the money already?
"AFC Energy, following receipt of a non-refundable deposit within 5 business days of the offer, shall commence a brief engineering study "
" Brief period of engineering now commencing to finalise final project sizing, scope and commensurate contract terms;"
It could be read that they've got the money already.
Hi BumbleB I didn't actually say that 4000 hours equates 4 year longevity. I said 'if' 4000 hours contributed to the extrapolation of data to verify a 4 year life expectancy' we would all be laughing.
However, if they are expecting to prove 4 years life expectancy by the end of the year they've only got another 4 months, discounting August when Italy is on holiday and Christmas when UK is on holiday, to prove a totally new stack of new electrodes, if that was what they were planning on doing.
For what it's worth, I note that according to SimplyWallStreet www.simplywall.st Electrical analysts are expecting that AFC is on the verge of break even. They are also showing an estimated J curve, growth chart in revenue
If the stack at Stade is still going it will have reached approx 4000 hours running time sometime this week. Now if 4000 hours contributed to the extrapolation of data to verify a 4 year life expectancy we'd all be laughing.
Hi Donn1, Apparently not all from previous intel, and at least one of the directors was also meant to have held some. As the directors of Linc, as well as Linc Energy, are now being fined for environmental damage, they have possibly had to give up their AFC shares earlier than they wanted to.
Last week out of 11.5 million shares traded at least 7 million were classed as 'buys' (above the mid). As what people were buying seemed to be above the mid-price for most of Thursday and Friday, (because I checked with dummy trades) there does seem to be a disparity between the sp and the number of shares 'bought'. I keep thinking where are they getting the shares from to keep the sp down and the only answer I can think of is Linc Energy or Linc Energy directors getting hammered to pay their fines.
