Album,
Queen's funeral was watched by around 20 million people on BBC One at that time, while ITV's audience numbers peaked at 5.3 million.
For the recent ENG match, 20M watched on ITV compared to 5M for Queen's.
All these million viewing numbers attract advertisers and it doesn't matter how many of those 20M are terrstrial tv users. Even ITV is not bothered about subscription as they are not advertising the cost for subscription. All that ITV needs is advertising revenue as that gives more money than the subscription money?
With smart tv that everyone has now, ITV app can be installed easily. Viewers can watch for free with ads or pay for subscription for ad free. Subscription cost is £60 per year compared to Netflix's double the cost. May be Netflix content is popular but eventually people will watch ITV they is available for half the price of Ñetflix and the content hopefully gets better than Netflix in future. It still has 10000 hours of content!
